Statdeath is very interesting in Incursion, where you've got all the standard D&D character attributes to die from.

Yes, even Charisma.  Apparently, looks can kill.

What.  The.  Hell.

I go into a bailey... and find a stack of 8 potions.  I drink one - "You feel clever".

Yes, I just found a stack of 8(!) potions of gain intelligence.  Is there any reason not to just drink them all now?

Of course, I'm a TrBe, so they're not hugely useful.  At least I won't need to put anymore points into int to avoid statdeath...
I've heard that shuffled trolls can make excellent casters. This is similar I suspect.

Ustxu Iceraped the Frigid Crystal of Slaughter was a glacier titan. It was the only one of its kind. A gigantic feathered carp composed of crystal glass. It has five mouths full of treacherous teeth, enormous clear wings, and ferocious blue eyes. Beware its icy breath! Ustxu was associated with oceans, glaciers, boats, and murder.

Wasn't statdeath recently removed from the game? If not, I was incredibly lucky just now running around with my TrBe, who got his INT mutatized to 1 for a looong while.

EDIT: Robsoie's post, I guess not, hmm. Is the removal planned for 0.7.0 then?

Yay!  That's the decaying rune.  My first rune as a TrBe.

It was the fiery ending... and I happened to have picked up rF+++.  Massacre.

Huh, Nikola.  Looks like I lose.

12hp left with him in view is never a good situation.  I think I'll spend a while reviewing it...

In 0.7, you don't die instantly when your stats reach 0. Now, you get a bunch of debilitating effects before you slowly die.

Ok.  Right now I would like to advocate stopping and thinking when you're in a dangerous situation.  As it turned out, the layout of the corridors was such that I could run away from him without him getting a single shot on me (thanks to his slow speed).  I was then able to come back down, apply Trog's Hand and own him.

Yeah, the entire devteam agrees that portal vaults (baileys in particular) have way too much loot. I happen to agree with them. Consider that those potions could of been potions of experience. Or gain strength.

I just killed an ice dragon in the Lair at level 12. 12! It wasn't even a near-death experience like the times I killed Xtahua at level 14 in Shoals or level 16 in Snake. Worst part? I only have like 50 hit points. My randart rC++ robe, rC+ mutation, 24 EV, and 16 SH probably had something to do with not getting killed, although I suspect the high damage Sticky Flame does to rF- enemies and the fact the poor bastard only breathed cold once and then proceded to chase me as I ran away didn't help his damage much.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Agreed... I just died to Saint Roka, but if I were a mage on that run, my intelligence score would've been 40 or so.  My spellpower would've been retarded.

I just lost a DEFE that could cast Fire Storm in Sprint, due to overconfidence.  :-[ I think I like deep elves better in Sprint than in Vanilla Crawl. It's much easier to boost their fighting skill in that mode.

The ultimate in farming: MuTr of Sif Muna. Sure, you can't use most of the transmutations, but you're basically saving up for Necromutation in a normal game, and you've already got all of the benefits of lichform minus the draining attack, having rF-, and no potions. Now you're free to learn Earth Magic and cast Shatter in addition to evaporating ALL of your potions!

I said farminges, not funnest. If you want fun, why are you even thinking of playing a Mummy?

Zin is awesome in 0.7. The improved Recite and Imprison are pretty useful. I might seriously play with him now. I got bored, so I started giving monsters in the Arena weapons. Here are the results:

99 Dwarves with flaming battleaxes vs 99 Sigmunds with scythes of reaping
Dwarves win!

99 Dwarves with great maces of distortion vs the Royal Jelly
Dwarves win!

Obviously, this means that an army of dwarves is unstoppable.  8)
