I was wondering...  Now that LASD stepped down, who is going to be the captain of Team Dwarf?

Hmm, stepped down? Indeed, I'm not sure if I should lead it or not as there's so many great players, but it's still open. I'll make the thread now so we can start discussing this and anything similar.

EDIT: Here

Clearly a fight to the death is the only solution.

Where are the rules/info for this upcoming tournament?

Yaks are W-A-A-A-Y-Y-Y overpowered in Stone Soup,Trolls are easier to kill.

Yaks aren't that strong, but they probably kill more characters than Sigmund because you don't expect it. Once you get used to them, and learn to fear them like the gnolls, they're really not so tough :P I sort of learn to love yaks later on, because they're a good source of XP and a good, clean food source.

Trog just gave me a scythe of orc slaying... then a scythe of dragon slaying.  Um... wow.

Also, an executioner's axe of vampiric draining.  Somewhere up there an MDFi is crying.

By the way, is it doable/ desirable to train weapons on a Troll?

Ok, problem.  Explored every available part of Orc, but can't find elf.  I don't want to enter it yet, but it feels weird having it cut off... is there any way to make the search easier?

Magic map Orc:3. If the stairs are not on Orc:4, it has to be on Orc:4. The entirety of Orc:4 is connected, I think.

Forget Yaks, Death Yaks are several times worse.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Yes, at the point i encountered a pack of Death Yak in Lair, at the level my Troll Berserker was, he could not take 2 in the same time like he could do for every monsters that far, he had to "stair-attract" them one by one to be sure to not have my character killed.

On my last Troll run that i posted up there, Trogg gifted him a battleaxe of freezing and it was very good in the hands of my troll (that had a level 7 in axes)

I've just found an odd castle-like feature on D:6 that was absolutely full to the brim with gnolls. Are these new in 0.7, or have I just not seen one before?

I saw one in 0.6 but the one i found was orcs, not gnolls, i liked this nice random feature for the main dungeon, helps to give some of the floors a bit more "personnality"

the gnoll fort has been around for a few versions at least, there are a few other castles you'll run into every once in awhile.

Yes, if you want to. A troll can wield a giant spiked club, which is the best weapon in the game. If you worship Trog, then you might receive an uber randart giant club. Trolls, unlike Ogres, have huge claws that end up doing more damage than most melee weapons. The choice is either using a weapon (which can have a brand and resistances) or your claws (absurdly high damage and fast attack speed).

Did you check all the stairs? You can try randomly teleporting, since the mines has a lot of hidden places.

A thousand curses on Kirke. My best character ever, a level 16 DEWz of Vehumet, fell to her. Bam, pigged, then demons everywhere.
