I'm having good usage out of Animate Dead. Drop down, slaughter something, animate it, and spam mephetic cloud. Centaurs are excellent zombies thanks to their speed. Need to get some spell levels to get selective amnesia though.

You've already cleared Lair, right? There's always money in Vaults:8, Tomb:3, Slime:6, and Elf:7. I know that's not really helpful for you. Snake, Hive, and Vaults all have at least as much gold lying around as the Dungeon, if not more. Crypt, Blade, and Swamp all have a very small amount of money in them. I don't know how much gold there is in Shoals, but I can say that even if there's a lot, it'll be under the water.

Clear Snake:1-4. Clear Hive. Clear Vaults:1-7. Clear dungeon levels. Clear OUT Crypt, since there MAY be some cash in the Crypt:4 vault. Of course, you'll invariably get an ancient lich who summons Hellions and Fiends (guess how my last character died). Just take the Crypt:4 vault very slowly and bring as much rN as you can.
I haven't cleared anything let. I'm moving very slowly, though I just fell down a shaft a few levels, and was hoping there was something easy I could do to make money. I'm just about there, and may get there trying to get back up.

Honestly, I've never cleared anything yet, cept in wizard mode. Was hesitant about Orc due to the massive hordes I always encounter there. Was hoping for instant confusion when I stepped down the stairs.

Edit: I just found a room with about half a dozen humans, a sheep, and  a lava pool. Easiest 2500 xp I've ever made.

Edit2: Success. I made the 650 I needed for party tricks, and got Alistair's. Good God this spell is powerful.

Ok, well, clear Lair then do Orc. That's not a money-tactic or anything, Lair's just really easy compared to continuing down the dungeon. And if you can do Lair, Orc is likely to be just as easy.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Yeah, got far through orc, very far in lair, and kept going in the main dungeon a bit. Got one shot by Josephine. The bolt of cold hits you. Ouch that hurt. You die...

Shame. I had a great bookstore available.

Edit: Oh, almost forgot. I just found the Book of Tukima. Dancing weapon time.

Edit: New combo. Conjure flame + water hazard = massive steam cloud for a long time.

Edit3: Chei doesn't like Tukima's dance.

Yeah.  Once I've done Lair and Orc, I like to do Swamp if it generated (although rPois is basically a necessity).  Shoals works too if you have Dispel/ Deflect missiles (although I had a horribly sucky entrance last time... not only was there deep water stopping me from leaving the initial staircase, but Roxanne was actually within range of the downstairs) and none of the Shoals are remotely hard except the last one (and long as you don't go Kraken baiting).  All of Snake is probably doable after this except the last floor... same for Elf after a while as long as you have the right resistances.

I've never been able to do Slime, though, and I've never fully cleared Vaults :/.

I really want a book of Party Tricks. It has so much awesome.
Lets face it, its one of the best books in the game. Everything but Projected Noise is very useful, and I'm sure someone out there has figured out some use for Noise.

Going after the rune of zot, use Projected Noise to pull guardians out. Not perfect, you'll get them a few at a time, and you need to know the range, but it beats getting close to them to pull.

If you want lots of cheap minions, you can also worship Kikubaq.... can't spell his name, much less pronounce it. He appreciates killing, and gives you corpses. Great for going through Pandemonium or the Abyss as a vamp necro, since you can't carry enough food for yourself otherwise. Summon corpses, eat some, animate the rest.

I pronounce it Kee Koo Bah Koo Ja.

Sounds chaotic evil enough, and rolls off the tongue quite nicely  :)

And, like many other peculiar words (Nietzsche, Gyrobifastigium), I have been able to spell it correctly from memory since just about the first time I saw it.  Kikubaaqudgha.

Anything under six letters, however, and it risks being horribly mangled into an unrecognizable gibber.  It's almost like I have reverse dyslexia to complement my reverse claustrophobia (I have an odd fondness for small dark spaces).

One thing to note about Kiku is that the corpse gifts can quite frequently be mutagenic, poisonous, or even degenerative.  Ghouls are pretty much the only ones who can safely devour Kiku's Kwikee Stiff Delivery.

Couple notes about Fedhas...  Spores now apparently trail mold onto the tiles they pass by.  This is really just an aesthetic quirk, but it can quickly lead to a dungeon level that has been criss-crossed with growth by the passings of friendly spores.  Naturally, this is awesome.

Also, it would appear that second generation spores and ballistomycetes are still listed as merel "neutral", not "friendly".  This means you get no XP for the kills they make while going on their rounds.  Oklobs, however, will feed you with whatever points they shave off of passing monsters.

Basically, this just reinforces the nature god's emphasis on safe havens.  Although you won't get the experience benefits from the wandering spores, you do still get a place that's covered in corridor-blocking mushrooms, plants that can Oklobified in moments, and giant spores that will seek out and destroy any hostile enemies that come near them.  Stair-scumming can be very interesting if all your new party guests get showered in high-strength acid the instant they come up for a chat.

Also, I just confirmed for myself that the fruit/piety thing has changed.  Piety for shrooms, fruit for plants.  Furthermore, Walking Shrooms can't pass through plants.  Only you can do that.  Further-futhermore, although Fedhas won't protect you from the damage or the confusion from getting caught in a spore blast, he will protect your food.  I suppose that's nice.  After all, it'd be kinda lame if you used one of his powers, only for it to wind up removing most of your ability to call upon his powers.

I still think that Fedhas should provide some method for getting fruit.  Yes, that might turn shroomed levels into veritable gardens of Eden, but that's friggin' awesome and it should totally get implemented.  Even if it's linked to enemies and/or their corpses, there should still be something...  Snozzcumbers don't grow on trees, y'know!

...they don't, do they?

Cursed Ring of Teleport
Edmund
Player Ghost with spammals and mephetic cloud.

AHHHH.

I killed Edmund with my staff of Chaos (The cloud got him...and tons of spammals. The spammals begin to kill eachother in confusion.)
I killed the ghostie after being teleported away a few times..

Then I teleport again. Into Prince Ribbet, who I've never met. HELLLLPPP MEEEEE. Oh wait, I'm already dead.

And I wish Fedhas didn't need so much fruit...I've seen his altar my last 4 games in D:2-5

The idea of turning every level into something completely taken over by you is actually very appealing.  I might need to have a go at it some time.

Do monsters actively try to destroy neutral ballistomecytes, or will they pretty much stay there forever?

Also - is Extension super rare or something?  I've never actually got it before :/.

I've gotten it once or twice. It's unfrequent, but not too unfrequent, I think. It's in one of the enchantment books.

I just had my longest game so far, playing as a necro. Didnt find any spellbooks outside of the starting one, but the Pain+Vampiric drain combo was very deadly. After those two, I got dispel undead (this way I had spells that damaged everything, except demons), and finally, after I had been a while without getting spellbooks, I learned the zombie spell, as I figured that since I was perma-engorged thanks to my gourmand ammulet (better than a ring of sustenance), this way I would get an use for all the corpses I couldnt eat. Plus, casting it makes Kiku happy.

Anyways, I was javelined to death by some stupid thief on level 11. And I had killed worse than him, mind you, but still. Damn, I should have disintegrated the bastard as soon as I set sight on him.

I think it's Book of Enchantments, but I don't seem to get that one.  I mean, I always get Haste, Swiftness, Flight and the missiles ones, just never extension :/.

I must say, if you aren't worshipping Fedhas, those spore fields are good xp. I think I got 2k once, no risk.

For those using .6 and haven't gone to either the trunk version or .6.1, if you abandon Cheibriados, your stats stay the same. You can then reworship him, get some more stat gains, and abandon again. Naturally its a horrible bug, but it is rather amusing. His abandonment punishment is also pitiful.

Yeah, its a rather interesting bug. Best part, his punishment is to put you to sleep for a bit. I tested it in wizard mode, and I'm currently wandering through Pandamonium and it hasn't been an issue yet. If its not an issue there, its not an issue anywhere.
