Aye, they are truly a potent weapon. I just found a book of Enchantments as a Venom Mage. I think I am gonna Victory dance with it a bit. Levitation and deflect missiles are nice.

Edit: I have made an amazing discovery. The nifty Staff of Chaos you can pick up from Yuib is an INCREDIBLE weapon.

Edit: I just found an odd Temple entrance. A small pond with 4 tiles of lava a tile away on the diagonal. It constantly creates steam. Not sure if this is good or not.
I had a game with this...whenever I entered the level it yelled about map exclusions. The steam was that bad :P

Staff of Chaos is only incredible till it heals people.

Still amazing if you worship Xom as it keeps him entertained.

Yet I've found it doesn't matter too much. Some of the stronger attacks it has can one shot a lot of stuff that's immune to Mephitic cloud, so even if they get a quick heal, they'll be dropped in short order.

Cripes, Zombie Wyverns are EVIL.

Ok, my backstabs are getting ridiculous.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I also one-hitted a "distracted" yak to death.  Hmm... I have the book for mephitic cloud.  I need to train up to get it workable!  Then I can get my +112.5% attack bonus.

Oh, it may have something to do with my +5, +5 dagger of chopping and my +3 ring of slaying.  Holy shit, it's an abomination.

Also: I need to get my evocations skill up.  I've just realised turning invisible allows me to kill a hydra in 2 or 3 hits.  This ring of invisibility is good, but damn, is it hard to use...

Dear Okawaru

Thank you for the +8 +1 short sword of integrity.  It was nice of you to match it to my weapon specialisation, and I love the AC, intelligence, magic resistance, blinking and berserk raging.

One minor issue though - I am a stealth based character, and use stabbing to take out a good chunk of the enemies before they wake up.  This sword MAKES FUCKING NOISES EVERY FEW TURNS.

Yours sincerely

Very nice. A singing sword. Shame about that. Should learn silence, might help.

Personally, I've been using Cheibriados for a wide variety of characters. Right now, thanks to his ponderous brands, I have 36 int, and combined with 9 spellcasting I can just about cast 5th level spells hungerless. Which is nice with my DeWi. Of course, I've been completely neglecting my Spammals so I have no summon skill, and just got a lovely book of Summoning.

Silence gives a bigass stealth penalty, even vs sleeping monsters and the like.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

My DSWz is finally able to cast Fire Storm at Very Good. I cleared most of Vault:8 by standing on the staircase. Those monsters are stupid. Fire Storm has a huge range and makes tons of noise, so what do the curious monsters do? Walk into the flames to investigate. ???

I got 3 runes, so I can head to Zot. I also found a staff of energy, so Fire Storm is now hunger-less. What you guys think: Get the Orb or go for all the runes?

I want summon butterflies. Anyways, when confused and casting spells, you can make tons of butterflies..it's nice when you have to close range Mephetic Cloud.

Hmm, did you swap gods? (assuming this is the same guy from before)

Get all the runes.  No sense going for a quick win and leaving behind all those flammable creatures un-torched.

And if you die to something stupid, at least you'll have done your service to the Immortal Flame.  Plus you'll also make a bones file to end all bones files.

Is it wrong that I find a Blazing Lamp in the first store I come across as a Fire Elementalist? A few more levels, and I can evoke it almost perfectly already, and I'm only on DL3.

Does regeneration work on bloodless vampires, or are they like deep dwarves?

Gah, just died against Norris.  It was more through boredom than him being a good opponent (he was real low on health and I was quite high... then he suddenly gets in his first hit of the fight).

Oh wow... a randart ring where every element is very useful for me.
