What if the magic stick took "Fighting Spirit"?

Big stick is still better, it's just closer.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Toony, if you are new to vampires, make sure to type shift A, then !.
It'll show you all sorts of fun things that happen depending on how thirsty you are.

Like when you are super hungry, you get all sorts of resistances and can transform to a bat.
When you are full, you regenerate health, but can't transform, no super resistances, etc.

Troll ftw! I'm still working on my troll monk, I got to Elf 7 but can't clear the vault. The elf demonologists are tough, either they can get enough meatshields between me and them that the demons wear me out or they banish me to the abyss where I have to wander around in a foodless wasteland until I either luck out and find a gate or get killed by some ridiculously powerful demon (why can't my summoner summon those). Had a little better luck using my legendary decks, but I still got cornered, lucked out and drew the Tomb, then tunneled out into another Dark Elf Demonologist petting zoo. Splat (and yes, I rested in the tomb).

In general, I think playing races that don't have restrictions against eating their enemies raw are awesome. Trolls and kobolds are also fun, and a nice change of pace from the somewhat restricted class set of vampires. Ghouls... not so much, they're a little confusing.

Im doing this High Elf Crusader and just got the zerpentine rune on snake pits, cleared orcs hive, lair and dungeon till lvl 20.
What would you do next? (i was thinking in elfs, got repel misiles but only RF+ and RN+)
Best fun ever, they are just too soft but i think they got heavy potential since they are excellent casters and the kings of swords.
I love hybrid builds and this one can do it, along wiht merkfolks are the best.

I have ended the game 2 times now and its always easy to reach lvl 27 but the 2 times only with 1 skill at lvl 27...
Maybe this time i can reach 27 with dodge fighting and longswords maxed.

Spells:

Fire brand, ice brand, ozokubus armor, berzerk, haste, repel msl (the lvl 6 one, not the crapy lvl 2), Sinv, sumon butterflys, the anti summons spell (cant remmember the name), Regeneration,

a randart chainmeail, a +5+7 great sword (dont know what to wait to change it since shields mess my spells and most good longswords are 1 handed) +8+3 great sword of holy holyness, conservation cloack, a lot of stealth +....and well... 95 max hp... coupled with 18 armor and no shield. A, almos forgot, 32 evacion.

Crusaders are fun...but I've never gotten that far. The farthest I've gotten is a little bit farther than Toony.

I was stuck near the first rune for most of the time i played Crawl.
I dont like to forgive or run, i like mi dungeons clea and mi exp as high as it can be... i think i share this with a lot of people, mostly new ones.
the more important thing is know what are the limits... for example, i never killed mi first ogre wihtout berserk or range. The use of wands and javalines is very important for this after surviving the first 10 explvls they become less importat so are there for the using early.
The first char i got to the end whas a deep el fire elementalist, i trained fire till stickyflame and then earth magic, once you get iron bolt all gets killed fast. faster with haste....
but before i could rise a wizzard i tryed deep dwarf necromancers and learned a lot about surviving, not being able to heal helped me to understand the need of not being hited.
Still now, i think deep elf fire elementalist is the strongest character i played.
In the other hand, all magic users need mephitic cloud like warriors need berzerker at the begining. Wizards habe it better this way, ice dep elf wizard, starts with trow frost, blink, magic misil (very usefull for extra evacion and ice recistant moobs) mephitic cloud and other things i dont remmeber.
Vehumet is the best godd for a conjurer. (forget sifmuna IMO)
after wining with this one i returned to MD berzerckers or figthers of Okawaru, being the last ones harder at the begining and realized that they have a very strong tendency to depend on luck.
Other very important thing must tell, is that almos all guides advice on changing to two handed axes at late, but this is WRONG. Shield is the best armor slot, i dont know the mechanics but i ended having about 70+ shield with a MD with a normal large shield and the blesig from TSO (wich is stronger as the shield skill and las longer the same way, not with invocation) and it seemed to block 70% of the hits, so, 70% less dmg... this cant be beated.

What is this Ziggurat portal that wants tons of gold?

AH! THIS IS THE LEVEL WHERE I HAD THREE SHADOW IMPS AND TONS OF ZOMBIES.
I managed to kill the ghost, so the summons are gone...but now there are scary zombies all over.

I'm pretty sure its an arena type deal with a run at the end. I think. I'm pretty sure there's good gear or something down there. I don't know. Back up and do it.

Ustxu Iceraped the Frigid Crystal of Slaughter was a glacier titan. It was the only one of its kind. A gigantic feathered carp composed of crystal glass. It has five mouths full of treacherous teeth, enormous clear wings, and ferocious blue eyes. Beware its icy breath! Ustxu was associated with oceans, glaciers, boats, and murder.

the zigurat is a 27 lvls deep small dungeon with NO rune and the best deals on hardware but the hardest fights on the game, also, you dont need to do it all as it gets harder slowly
Also: Angel room! not a good place to play undeads or demonspawn.

Too late. I read the wiki, it's for really high level characters.
Also, I would need 3700 more gold to enter.

And I just died.
I was raped by a Orc Priest + Orc Wizard + Orc Warrior
I berserked with my crusader spell, but at low levels...you faint at the end of it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Was my best game so far though!
(Got cursed equipment twice, thankfully use identified the Remove Curse and Identify Curse scrolls on the first two tries. Identify shortly after.)

usually,if you cant pay it, you can beat it, that amount of gold is obtained near max lvl unless you didnt spend any money in the run.

Less unlikely than you'd think. I've had 3700 by the time I cleared orc unless there was something good in the stores - and there usually isn't. Most of the gear is sub-par, and unless there's a nice magic trinket like missing resistances or an amulet of control teleport (I need one bad, I have a cursed ring of teleport but I can't find a remove curse scroll or an amulet) there's really not much to buy aside from potions and scrolls.
