There exist many applications for taking screenshots of only one window or a small area of the screen, but I can't name any reasonably compact ones.
Alt + Print screen. It copies only a pic of the currently selected window.

Any one have played .7 pre-release?
How you are feeling about the new demonspawn mutations?
Personaly  i hate claws nails and everithing  that disallows armor slots, they are just... week IMO.
Just think, in almost every game you can get some decent boots gloves or helms wich gives about 3 or 4 AC and maybe STR Speed or SInv.
Also protects from acid.
Also Also you may get another mutation instead.
Also Also Also its cool to give good use to those Okawaru gifts and maybe dont need to spend exp in unarmed combat.
They should be stronger at least, like... +2 AC for lvl of horns? Poison nails at lvl 3? or maybe they should exchange body slot mutations for wings/tails and dont disallow body armor slots so they are always welcome.

Woo, time for another ridiculous character from your friendly neighbourhood Gravenous! No win, though, due only to boredom. This is the latest tiles trunk version.

I was getting tired of having Arcane Marksmen splattered like flies along the first four floors, so I decided to give a stealth character a go. I had only tried enchanters before, and they're a bit ...straightforward. So, here's the select class screen... hmm. Lemme see... Kobold Assassin! Hell yeah!

Dudes start with a +2 dagger, a blowgun and some needles, including 3 curare. All in all, this is the easiest early game I've seen. Everything, apart from priest packs, falls like leaves in autumn, to either the poison needles, or the dagger. It's pretty ridiculous. I chose Okawaru because of ammo gifts, I wasn't really aware how assassin endgame goes, but I had those blurry visions of mass-needling. Yeah, guess joke was on me with that.

I acquired some really stupendous +EV randarts along the way, mostly in the midgame. Were I smarter (or with at least some idea of what's ahead) I'd have switched to evasion tanking, but eh, I was really keen on that stealth. Which turned out rather pointless, to be fair. Either I'm doing something extremely wrong, or stealth just isn't worth it if not backed up by something else. In my case, the cloak of darkness Oka was kind enough to gift me. That made some sections jaw-clinchingly easy, the example that stuck by me most is the very entrance of Zot (which was actually 2 minutes before my death, but that's to follow). There were about 20-something sleeping draconians to greet me as soon as I entered. One invisibility later, there were 20-something corpses and full xp. Oh well.

Due to me stubbornness to play a stealth-focused character, I didn't have a way of dealing with Slime, or it'd have been a four-rune run, but I'd heard of some horror tales involving the Royal jelly and stabbing.

And here's the interesting part. The ridiculous part. I cruised through the entire game with NO resistances at all, save for a random point of rNegative. You see, my little kobold had 20 AC, 48 EV and 30 SH. The combination of Evasion and shields in trunk is so stupidly powerful I can't describe it. I went toe-to-toe with two golden dragons and a shadow dragon at once. With a +5 quickblade. UNBRANDED. That, actually,  became my main weapon, a +8 Quickblade of stabbing after finding my first vorpalise weapon scroll in something like d20. I was growing increainsgly bored with this guy, as I was expecting a much higher focus on ranged combat, rather than just debuffing, so I went for a suicide run. The only problem were Fire Giants, as their fireballs are undodgeable. Everything else.. well, let's say my next character will be an evasion-based melee. I can only guess what havoc I'd have wrought with an actual weapon.

There's a trick, though. Without shields, it all falls apart. Unlike pre-6.0 versions, taking a two-hander is much, much worse than just roaming along with a one-hander and shield.

I don't have much to add, I'm just amazed how powerful this combination turned out. Oh, how I died. Yeah. It turns out, as I had suspected, that orbs of fire are rather unfazed by my ninja-esque evasion skills. About a hundred damage at once, just as I was trying to get out of Zot somehow. Here's the whole morgue file, for those who're curious.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten. I learned meph cloud, but never got along to actually casting it, and it turns out, as I'm reading through the morgue file, that one particular unlucky encounter with an orange statue, which ended up with me standing confused on the edge of some deep water for about 5 real-life minutes wondering what the hell before seeing the damn hidden statue, erased all my (two) spells. So, there's that.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

!! EDIT !! - Morlacko, the way I understand, you're guaranteed ONE slot-removing mutation (claws, beak, what have you), but there are some mutations which are, frankly, ridiculous, like spines. It's not normal to have ogres kill themselves attacking me at lvl 4. And don't get me started on demonic guardian. I had it at mutation level three, when my character was level 10. TEN. Imagine, if you will, a level ten DSWi, merrily jogging alongside his Executioner friend. Yeah... But that was at the previous 0.7 version, I haven't tried it now.

yes... IMO spikes are fine as long as you cant get it before lvl 10 but demon guardian is not fun, is too strong and it disallows okawaru (demon mutation lvl 2 most of the time for me gave me a demon summoner, LOTS of ufetubus and lots of deaths and punishment)
In the other hand i loved the new scales, and fire/ice facets.

If this is wel implemented and balanced should be great, cant wait!

Also, related to the last topic, im loving the work on demonspawns. They are the most fun for me, no limitations between skills and the posibility to choose whatever class or weapon that comes around.
I only wish they had pasibe RN or Torment R but well... they are getting stron now.

Try demonspawn crusaders, they are a bit hard at te beggining but if you got the spikes or the demon pupy early is a great game to play. (Haste RM Brand Regen all in one convenient pak)

I just tried a demonspawn stalker, and managed to get spines 2. I think they were pretty boring. :-\
The effect is pretty powerful, but there's no way to control it. I just stand around, trying to sneak a hit here and there, while enemies tore themselves apart on my menacing spikes. I soon got careless, and died to a bunch of orc warriors. My health was already low from killing a seven headed hydra by letting it strike me once with each head and then hitting back with a +0/+0 unbranded lajatang. Yay! Lajatangs! :D With the spines killing everything that got close, I was getting weapon skills slower than normal, and my first Okawaru gift was a dagger of protection rather than a kickass lajatang or a quarterstaff or something. I kind of expect to be able to boost lajatangs with Maxwell's Silver Hammer, but that didn't work. It said that "the spell fizzled", which is pretty uninformative as a failure message.

But, yeah. Spines = boring. Maybe if it was a temporary effect that I had to turn on? Then it'd be more like me killing monsters and less like monsters killing themselves on me.

maxwells only works on bludgeon weapons, its one of the worst spells since branding spells are usualy situacional giving you fire or ice or poison as you need it but more phisical dmg is out weighted by scroll of vorpalyce weapon. and can be used on any kind of weapon.
Also spines are permanet but do less dmg as long as you rise your AC, and dont worry about the training with it, the exp for skills is saved in your pool and i dont think there is a way to reach the maximun or nothin near it before lvl 24 or so when you may find 2 o3 lichs or dragons togheter

So the spine counterdamage is inversely proportionate to AC? Interesting. That explains why I found it overpowered, I had like 3 AC and was relying on EV. My armour was a randart -1 animal skin with +4 to EV and resistances to poison and magic. And I had a repulsion field.

And the weapon skill sadness was more a situational thing. I had five points in short blades, but only one in staves, so Okawaru gifts were weighted towards the former. :)

I allways found fun in dmg reflection or "spikes" efects since the paladin of diablo 2. I read about that there are 2 facets of ice with 3 lvls each, i got 1 wich gave me FR+ +10AC and potion protection, and there is another that gives ice dmg reflection, i would like to see if this can be got with spikes and then a shield of reflection only for the extra fun it may imply, also, now Ronald has 50% chances of droping it one.

Anyone tried being an orc priest in service to the orc god Beough?

It is hilarious. You can clear every level of the orcish mines but just walking down the stairs. Everytime any of the orcs see most of them join you and cause a brawl. By the time I made it to the last level I had 3 named orc knights, a named orc wizard and 2 named orcs priests. Those guys are each better than I am.

Yes i tryed that and is preety fun xcept that  i was wanting to have 1 of each and try to see how much they develope, i guess the common Orc has the most potential, tryed get one all the way to fighter->knight->warlord. but he was killed by a 14 head hydra ¬¬
one thing i liked a LOT is that each time they kill something theyr weapons and armors get better, when the stronger orc warrior i got died he left me a orc plate mail of FR +7 and a orc greatsword +5+6.
The wizzards are like a summon battery when they get red cloack. every mosnter i found PUM 10+ demons arround, also they resurrect a lot of the things killed.
priests... cant develop them as they were slow in movement speed and forgot about them, when i remmemberder they where dead (or lost)
this game needs 1 Ctrl+F comando for followers.
how much priest develope? what powers they get?
Also, have noticed that with ****.. piety Beogh gives "water walk" ? usefull.

Priests turn into High Priests. They can raise the dead along with smiting, healing, pain, and lots of demon summoning. The "red" wizards are Orc Sorcerers. They summon demons and shoot Bolts of Draining. The demons they both summon will also do mean stuff like raise the dead, shoot more Bolts of Draining (among other spells), and confuse your foes.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Mushrooms are for Fedhobas I believe, the plant guy. Quite useful.

Orc Priests of Beogh are great. Make yourself a meat shield, get a half dozen priests to follow you, and watch as everything is smitten. Finally get to abuse smite spam.
