For Elven Halls without access to some ice/poison/fire cloud spell, i wouldn't really go to the Elf big vault in the end, in fact with a melee magic-less character i simply wouldn't go there at all, too many hard hitting monsters surrounding you in no time due to the amount of elf summoners there.
Back in 0.11 my ogre berserker cleared Elf without getting banished, it was somewhat doable. And by that I mean I barely survived thanks to liberal use of Trog's abilities. Speaking of him:

Only Zot5 remained (And Crypt/Tomb & extended) so I figured I'd do a 4-rune before patching to v12. I think I could have piled enough rN to make Crypt viable but I didn't want to lose this guy. You know that out-of-touchiness when you've taken a long break? I figured Zot5 was big enough of a risk already.
Found GDA but by then I had a heavily enchanted FDA. Never really had a problem with weaponry, though Trog took his sweet time before giving me a GSC. By the end I had a couple of good ones though (+4,+13/Crush and +3,+8/Holy MR). With a little item juggling I had all the resists I needed for basic win, so for me Slime/Elf ends were worth clearing out. First half of Zot5 was fairly easy with a single BiA though I lost a lot of potions and scrolls. Right after grabbing the orb I bumped into a Hell Sentinel mixed in with a gang of draconians, thought I was a goner. Would have probably died without BiA. Right after those I fought my first random Pan Lord, even with a BiA it took a while to get him down. Spooky guy. After Zot5 though, nothing much came up. Just a quick ruffle with a shadow demon & entourage.
Any tips & feedback to work on based on my chardump?
