wow i didnt even know that these existed i guess they only show up in like haunted areas also there was a bunch of phantom spider silk whom i didnt know existed also but yeah that was kinda humerous

Yep. My first good fortress was in a type of haunted forest that had phantom pider silk and foul blendecs...I had a sheriff with a silver axe (Thought it was better than copper for some reason) and had just gotten the baron/hammerer/tax collector when a 60-some goblin seige with trolls and beak dogs killed everyone. I had such an easy to defend courtyard, but nooo, had to leave a back door...[/Nostalgia trip?]

I don't blame you for thinking that silver weapons are strong. i remember thinking the same thing BECAUSE in Final Fantasy for the NES, silver swords were pretty badass.

Morrowind silver weapons did damage to ghosts and such; I wonder if that'll ever be in the game?

 I guess it would depend on how Toady defines ghosts and supernatural creatures. Although weaknesses to specific materials would be nice.

 Morrowind silver weapons were kinda weak. It was better to have a better material weapon enchanted.

This talk of silver weapons reminds me of the Witcher, and just the general concept that silver weapons do more damage against certain foes.

Of course, they may as well already do so, and we would simply never know. :I

I've had a bed made out of green tourmaline, it menaced it spikes of GCS silk!

Silver weapons has always been good against the strange and undead, either that or magic, but i don't think they both apply to Dwarf Fortress.

In Dwarf Fortress silver weapons will be very effective against creatures with nickel allergies. Werewolf struck with a silver weapon will have an unbearable rash couple of days later.
