So, I finished watching Umineko no Naku Koro Ni; it ended as expected. I'll certainly watch the second season but I do hope it works better than Kai did.

On another note: Started Baccano! and continued Monster. Finished Seitokai no Ichizon, too; it was pretty funny.
Contemplating rewatching Bokurano/CLANNAD.

Hmm... I do currently have a policy against watching anime where all of the main characters are little girls.  Perhaps I'll remove this policy at some point .

I still need to finish both of those, they've been on hold for at least a year.

Yes.  My friend's description of K-On is disturbing me more and more.

Plus something tells me I'd miss the references in Lucky Star.  Heck, the only reference I got while watching Haruhi was the obvious Ace Attorney one.

I didn't get every reference made in Lucky Star either, but it was still a fun watch. Something about Konata is just plain entertaining. Maybe it's because she's so random throughout the series.

So, I watched Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle recently with my sister. Since this was the Anime tread I was wondering if anyone could recommend some more stuff to watch to an anime newb?

Also after watching Howl's I realised that one of the pictures in my old sixth form common room was of the castle.

Kiki's Delivery Service, I remember watching this as a little kid and it was great. Your sister is bound to love it.

It is one of the rare few anime that even the most adamant anti-dub is capable of saying was an improvement over the Japanese version (mostly due to the lengthened musical score)

The only other two I can think of are: Inuyasha and Samurai Pizza Cats

Though SPC hardly counts as in many ways it is an entirely different show.

I found Shuffle! to be better dubbed then subbed, their voices were nicely picked. Better then the japanese voices.

also watch spice and wolf, Dennou coil, and you can also just look up any anime made by Hayao Miyazaki, who made spirited away. They are all pretty good.

I'm currently rewatching outlaw star with my friend. It was our favorite anime when we were about 10... Now I understand all the sex jokes!

I gotta get around to watching some Spice and Wolf again. Especially since the 2nd season is pretty much out. Plus, it's been awhile since I've watched a good anime not broadcast on the stations I have.

Although, seeing Cowboy Bebop (despite having it on my machine) playing on [as] Saturday was a relief to see. Hopefully, [as] is going to play more anime for the next year, since the last checkup on their schedule made me fear the worst.

IIRC, that was one of the first anime that they played. I remember watching it in middle school. It's nothing new.

You should definitely try reading the games instead. They're far, far better than the anime.. also a bit long-winded, but far better.

I couldn't watch the anime past four episodes or so, it's such a bad adaption.

Darker than Black season 2 is over. Credits point to a season 3.

I honestly liked the first season more than the second, but the second is still good, and it looks like the third season will be better.

(Since I haven't exactly been following the subject, has this anime been mentioned before? If not, go watch it. Starts off a bit slow then really picks up, and the fights are pretty amazing.)
