Aizen more then demonstrated tha he has the ability to take out the soul society possibly bar 3 characters. So either the show has bad writing, or his real plan has nothing to do with taking over or taking out the soul society.

I've only read the manga (yes, I know my avatar is Envy from the anime, but meh), so I can't be sure, but is that the part with the chimera girl?  I found that pretty creepy too.

I think she was stabbed if this is the right person I am thinking of.

Unless it is the other girl, she was blown up

So there's a really young girl and her dog being all cute and having a good time with the heroes for half the episode and their father is sympathetic and then the next day they come back and he's melded her into the dog to create a chimera so he can continue to be sponsored by the state.

"Daddy? Why does it hurt?"
"Daddy? Why does it hurt?"
"Daddy? Why does it hurt?"

And then they both get murdered and when her father dies in front of her she's still human enough to cry before death.

Now, I've seen a lot of worse thing but for some reason this repulsed me utterly.

Oh, I remember that. It's horiffic. I would say that a person by rights couldn't do that, but he does.

I didn't like the part with the bird. For some reason it still horrifies me.

Yeah, I found it pretty shocking too.  Something about the act made it uniquely cold and shocking, far more so than the murders that happen frequently in the series.
