Funny thing though; running into my old classmates again, they're boring as hell. Unless alcohol is involved or something, would they be interested to chat, or some bullcrap like that. Why has my surroundings been starting to look more like a TV show, I wonder sometimes. At least being an outcast is more fun these days. At least, in my case.
Rule seventeen of Humans*; how interesting someone is is in direct correlation to how popular they are. In general, the more popular someone is, the more mind-numbingly boring they are. People who are popular only get that way by either being totally awesome(incredibly rare occurrence), or by being totally normal and have the personality of a small rock.
*From Frosty's Guide to the Modern World.
Sounds like in these cases, the popular person has so much natural charisma, they become entirely lazy, and the overall personality that made them popular becomes atrophied, thereby making them less interesting in the long run, and relying on past connections, or methods of friendship (that are outdated by then) to get through life (IE- Getting a decent job, expanding connections to better stuff/deals, etc.).
As for the unpopular, they're less privileged, meaning they must work to survive, and thus expanding their knowledge and friendbase (in due time). Seeing as they are less likely to be gifted with better charisma, acquiring connections is harder, but more worth it due to the extra knowledge and experience gathered, thereby allowing more information to be transferred, making them more interesting because they tried. But only those who have had at least almost as much experience would be able to notice such.
That's my observation at least. Simplified, it practically depends on just how much effort someone puts in to keep a conversation alive. Amazingly, popular people don't need much, but they sure put enough in later. I guess a side-note could also be that with fewer friends, more interests can be acquired and committed towards, due to less distractions. Provided loneliness doesn't take over.
