By the way, am I the only one who looks up what each character's name means as they're introduced?
Hmm I don't care about the character names, usually the sword names get displayed with their meaning at the top of the screen with the DB subs though and the special attacks.

If you've never seen anime before, Watch deathnote. I can guarantee that you'll like it. Ask your girlfriend about it. She'll know it.

She does. I'm planning on it, especially after seeing the 'eat a chip!' scene on youtube.

Any program that does something like that is something worth watching.

It has some pretty epic moments, and for once the main character is smart and genre-savvy.
I love Death Note, I wish they would show it again here.

I'm of the belief that Yachiru (the little pink haired girl that hangs out on his shoulder all the time) is his secretly his zanpaktou. Now, if so, he still wouldn't be able to unleash his actual shikai with her name, seeing as HE named HER, and Yachiru claimed to not have a name when they first met.

But then again, it's Bleach, so whatever the real answer is it's bound to suck pretty hard.

By hollow form, do you mean the hollow form,
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Technically both, since the spoilered item appears to grant the same instant regeneration.

If we assume that when he gets complete and total control of his inner hollow, he'll get all it's powers, and then we look at the crazy-ass powers his inner hollow has (It'd be Vasto Lorde class easy) then Tite has plenty more powerups to throw at Ichigo yet.

Possible, unlikely but possible; Stark proved that.

Also, there isn't enough Chad-love in Bleach. Chad's my favorite character, and I can't believe he's one of the weaker characters from how cool he is.

In other news, I saw a guy watching One Piece on one of the school computers, and one I asked him what he was watching he got really super defensive, clicked away, and was basically really hostile until I went away. I'm not sure if he thinks there's some sort of stigma associated with anime or something because it has me sort of worried if he's some sort of closet One Piece fan and doesn't want anyone else to know.

At my old school, none of my friends ever talked about anime, ever.
One day I mentioned something from one I had watched the day before, and suddenly I find out ALL of them are secret anime watchers. This threw me off because most of them were the kind of guys who are very popular, especially with girls.
We had a good chat about anime in class instead of doing work, and I noticed one of the girls who sits nearby giving us a look like we just sprouted nine-inch horns.

Rule one of anime in the West; you do not mention anime. If you do, you leave yourself open to rabid heckling and insults.

While I have not encountered that, I feel bad that such an attitude exists anywhere.

Then I feel worse that I'm so anti-social that I'm just discovering this now.

During high school, I was one of those people that were put off by anime; that is, until someone I knew in one of my classes, near the end of the year when it's okay to do whatever when classwork is done early or something like that, decided to introduce the class to Trigun. She brought in a tape of one of the middle episodes; I think it was the one with Vash vs. The Nebraska Family. It actually caught my attention, but apparently nobody elses'.

Aside already being an outcast at the school, I never felt so out of place when I actually enjoyed watching the episode and talking about it after class. Of course, it took until a couple years later, when I ran out of [as] shows to watch, I tried watching some Lupin III, and got interested, noticed from the commercials Trigun, and watched it from the beginning. Been a fan of anime since.

Funny thing though; running into my old classmates again, they're boring as hell. Unless alcohol is involved or something, would they be interested to chat, or some bullcrap like that. Why has my surroundings been starting to look more like a TV show, I wonder sometimes. At least being an outcast is more fun these days. At least, in my case.

Rule seventeen of Humans*; how interesting someone is is in direct correlation to how popular they are. In general, the more popular someone is, the more mind-numbingly boring they are. People who are popular only get that way by either being totally awesome(incredibly rare occurrence), or by being totally normal and have the personality of a small rock.

Sounds like in these cases, the popular person has so much natural charisma, they become entirely lazy, and the overall personality that made them popular becomes atrophied, thereby making them less interesting in the long run, and relying on past connections, or methods of friendship (that are outdated by then) to get through life (IE- Getting a decent job, expanding connections to better stuff/deals, etc.).

As for the unpopular, they're less privileged, meaning they must work to survive, and thus expanding their knowledge and friendbase (in due time). Seeing as they are less likely to be gifted with better charisma, acquiring connections is harder, but more worth it due to the extra knowledge and experience gathered, thereby allowing more information to be transferred, making them more interesting because they tried. But only those who have had at least almost as much experience would be able to notice such.

That's my observation at least. Simplified, it practically depends on just how much effort someone puts in to keep a conversation alive. Amazingly, popular people don't need much, but they sure put enough in later. I guess a side-note could also be that with fewer friends, more interests can be acquired and committed towards, due to less distractions. Provided loneliness doesn't take over.

Well.

Anime becomes the first thing to elicit an outward emotional response from me since watching Gallipoli last year. And by thing I mean 'show, movie, ect'.

I may have underestimated this as a medium.
