While I don't doubt "drool fetish" may be a thing, I suspect the actual overlap between "drool fetishists" and "Mysterious Girlfriend X" viewers to be limited. Because ... they'd have to be someone into drool-porn, but also who's enough of an anime nerd to have found the show. A Venn Diagram with a very small overlap.

I think many animes fall into this category. They're nominally about something, however people into that specific thing are unlikely to have heard of them, meanwhile a lot of anime fans hear about them no matter what they're about, and you hear a lot of stuff like "I'm not into basketball, but I enjoyed Kuroko's Basketball" as if it was the norm for basketball fans to see an anime about basketball, which is far from the truth: most of the people tuning into Kuroko's Basketball are tuning in because it's an anime, and despite it being about basketball. I hear most of the readers for that were girls acccording to Shonen Jump's surveys, and I doubt they're reading because basketball.

Same issue as before the explosion of science fiction being a big seller, the fans of that genre just practically read everything that was sci fi no matter how bad or good it was. They just wanted something that was sci fi.

Yeah, I enjoyed the manga of MGX and Kuroko's Basketball not because I'm especially into drool or basketball, but because they're both good quality.

Now we need an anime about a "dribbling" basketball player. The puddles he leaves behind for the other team to slip in, or give his team-mate a speed boost are his special move.

Finished my little sister is among them, though ecchi it is, was a pretty good series. Loved how the main character was actually competent and figured out what was all the problems like a detective.


Now I figured to torture myself and click on one of the recommended series to watch. The name is Astarotte's Toy. Didn't see the description just a mature tag and thought "fucket let's dive into this anime bucket". 4 episodes in and I'm actually enjoying it. It's extremely cute and well done. Still has the parent looks and sounds like a middle school student.

Since you're on a kick for that kind of stuff I'd highly recommend Binbougami Ga, and Sabagebu.

EDIT: they're lucky Astarotte's Toy doesn't take place on Earth, because they'd have child protective services called due to the premise. It's isekai, btw however it's more on the ecchi comedy side rather than the "OP hero" side. Outbreak Company is another similar one, as it Dog Days. Dog Days is just cute overload.

They have what are basically milkable elves in that setting, and that's actually less salubrious than the main premise. Which you can pretty much determine just from reading the plot section of the wikipedia article. Enough said, I'm not repeating it here

EDIT: I remember a modding discussion where we discussed modding elves as livestock for DF and how they could be made milkable. This franchise actually has that more or less.

Just finished Kimetsu no Yaiba (Amazing animation, shounen trash be damned). However it having a movie follow on from the series has made me realize that to this day I still have yet to see one movie from a serialized anime. I'm wondering how much stuff I'm missing out on. I know K-on had one, and maybe some others I just breezed through.

Two that come to mind are the Cowboy Bebop movie and the Haruhi Suzumiya movie.
