it is unironically one of my favourite shows ever and its very important To Me

that said i rewatched my favourite show ever for the like, fourth time, kill la kill, but this time it was the english dub. thoughts: pretty fucking good, actually! we're living in a pretty good era where dubbing is actually taken seriously by real actual actors with real actual talent, and so we get fucking incredible dubs like the boku no hero academia dub (i actually, unironically prefer it to the sub) and the kill la kill dub amongst others

Yeah, i'm not buying the disclaimer there. While innuendo is a thing that video crosses the line way past innuendo. Definitely far into NSFW. While there is a philosophical question about how much sexual connotation is in the work vs in your own mind, this video is so far into blatant sexual content that the disclaimer is just a trolling effort and has no deeper meaning.

It doesn't look anything like trolling to me, to be honest. Besides, trolling is a art in its own right – if trolling lacks a deeper meaning, it's hard to say that it's even trolling.

It feels like it's making a point, although it's not totally clear to me exactly what that point is.

That you can get away with softcore porn so long as you call it art? I can't imagine what other point it could be making beyond 'let's see what I can get onto Youtube and have it stick'.

It did occur to me that the disclaimer might have been for YouTube's benefit. There's a couple frames of nipple that they probably would have either omitted or capitalized on if they were trying to ride that knife's edge, though. In any case, I wouldn't call this porn. It's hard to imagine the person that would use it as such.

I find it difficult to come up with any real grounds on which to agree with this.

watch any mainstream anime's dub that came out in the last year or so, there are some bad ones but also some excellent dubs these days

Flawed as the show is, I thought Kekkai Sensen (or Blood Blockade Battlefront) had an amazing dub.

So I noticed they release a My Hero Academia game in the same style as the newer Naruto games. That is, just being a nice cel-shaded fighter that lets you relive the story as it happened. Not exactly from what I can tell, but pretty close.

I haven't played it, but it seems it doesn't really add anything to the canon like the Jojo Eyes of Heaven does, which I think is a major disapointment. Seems like it was a big opportunity to expand on the lore and setting of the universe that was wasted. I hope to be proven wrong though as I learn more about it.

Huh. Anima Yell has actual explicit* lesbianism. Not fetishized at all or anything, just something that happened to be there one episode. Despite all the yuri pandering in the world of kirara anime, I think this may be the first time I've encountered this.

*As opposed to implicit - it's not sexually explicit.

I know right??  I had high expectations and was not disappointed.  Even the fightscenes were very pretty and I tend to tune out for that kind of thing.  Lots of ridiculous whip-foo, "nothing personnel" sword-action, and elemental magic-fu!  So over the top
