Man I really want that Super Hero anime to pop back up.
While I SERIOUSLY would love them to get into the homoerotic subtext the anime has been using (I wish I remembered the characters names) I know that isn't going to be the direction they are going with... Even though this is one of the few times I think they could get away with it (That the guy hates our hero because he is gay for him). It would be far far greater then most Tsundere relationships as, frankly, there would be genuine reasons WHY he cannot express his feelings (as opposed to being a total unrepentant jerk... like most Tsunderes)
If I had to actually guess what his issue is (and once again he is soo over the top jerk I can't take him seriously because I just go "Seriously what is your problem?") it is that his entire life he was treated as special and better than everyone else... He was going to be a super hero some day!
Except to our hero... Who would try to help him and even stand up to him. Meaning that not only did he hurt his pride as someone special, but he knows in his heart that he is a far greater hero than he is... all naturally... Which is his biggest weakness (he is too violent and malicious as a hero)
I always like to point that he honestly did think our hero would actually be a threat to him during the super hero test. In spite having no powers... He puts down our hero CONSTANTLY but it is only because he fears that he is far greater than he is.
