Nah, Skull Knight is the landlord who was in their shoes fifteen or twenty years ago and keeps giving advice that they ignore.

So if any of you haven't been keeping up with the Team Lube Monkey thread, we've been watching Fruits Basket.

This is actually kinda fun. I mean, I knew it was the most generic Shoujo anime ever, but some of these quotes may be some of our best ever. And the reversed perspective is fresh and new, even if all the cliché's aren't.

Yuki best boy.

No, I am glad we watched GuP after seeing your nonsense, but I'm not falling into that basket.

But, that isn't nearly enough time for Zodd and SK.

Says you. Clearly you don't know anime landlords. For reasons best left unspeculated, SK would be in the main apartment more often than anyone is comfortable with. Also, don't ask how the horse got in there.

Yeah, but SK is like a thousand years old and Zodd is at least 300 years old. So SK was in their shoes a lot earlier than that.

I have to say... I actually like the English voice for Beerus far more than the Japanese one.

But I realise they are going for COMPLETELY different things :P

Japanese Beerus is more impetuant, more of a thug with god powers... and that is the joke :P

English Beerus is kind of exactly what you would expect from a god of destruction. Untold power behind the stature of a living god!

Then again there are quite a few jokes in the Japanese version that don't get transported over. Such as King Kai being the narrator (which him being the most boring person in the universe... it makes sense why he would find DBZ interesting enough to narrate it nonstop... Which yes is the joke)

---

Then again it might have to do with what is funny and what is not.

Power Puff Girls when it is translated (or PPGZ as well) typically removes Mojo jojo's particular speech quirk replacing it with him saying Mojo after every sentence because the speech thing just isn't funny in Japanese.

Then again the whole "add something at the end of every sentence" was only translated over once with the Prinny saying Dood... and that was amazing!

I just found out that Kai extended over into the Buu saga but it never god dubbed! The bastards! I loved Kai and I was really looking forward to seeing the Buu saga!

I'm curious what Kai would have removed/considered filler in the Buu saga.  It's been a while since I've watched the series so I can't really remember what was legitimately arc important and what wasn't.

No, no. They went straight from whatever they were doing before to the modern world only that decade or two earlier. They've still got all that going on but they've only been acclimating to the present day for a relatively small amount of time.

now all we have to do is give them the nyarko treatment and the dish is done to perfection

He really is though. He's the bro-est of bros in Berserk. Easily one of the best people in that fucked up world. He's spoopy skellington Good Guy Greg.
