Yeah, I remember liking Psycho Pass for the most part.  :)  It might be worth saying I actually don't mind sexual themes, its just that in prettty much any anime I've seen it always comes of as pandering to me(or the supposed target 14-year old horny Japanese teenager), rather than being an actual part of the story.
Funny you say that, as absurd as it is, Kaleid actually has a story reason for the uh... stuff. GitS:SAC and 2nd Gig are both great but the Major is like the avatar of fanservice, well, her and Kuze... rOwR. Hell, then you've got stuff like Valkyrie Drive where the sexual stuff is literally the entire plot.

Valkyrie Drive is also boring. And terrible.

Attack on Titan season 2 when

http://www.itechpost.com/articles/23400/20160804/attack-titan-season-2-release-date-finally-confirmed-new-introduced.htm

The air date was just announced in August. Episode 1 of season 2 will air in February 2017. But I think that will be a teaser, and the full series will start in April.

Eh, I like that it exists for the counterpoint of "well, we do have an example of a show where fanservice is a side effect of the plot, rather than an extraneous addition" if nothing else. It's not porn enough to be porn, and the writing is pretty hammy, but it's a thing now.

Pretty sure valkyrie drive actually qualifies as softcore porn in a number of countries. Just not where it's produced, heh.

I... haven't actually seen it in a long time. I need to look at it with fresh eyes because I have extremely fond memories of it.

Regardless of the story, I still think it's a work of art just because of the quality animation and cinematography, and the haunting soundtrack.

Coincidentally, I read the entire manga in one big volume the other day. The scene that the movie's intro was based on is much less majestic with technobabble in every panel, Shirow's notes all over the space between panels, and a lab assistant that's half-naked for some reason.

Thank you, but now I want to curse you because now I have an actual date to anticipate rather than just "Eventually."

Ok here is a trend that is quite interesting.

Anime characters often don't need sleep.

Like they heard of the concept of sleep, but it is entirely optional.

I don't think I've seen a main character do an all-nighter and then pay for it the next day... even in a "It is holding me back, but I'll succeed anyway" sort of deal.

HECK Naruto has Gara whose level of sleep would mean he'd be dead outright (he would slip into a coma and die)

Ah yes, the guy with magical sand and a demon sealed inside of him. How unrealistic that he's gone more than a week or so without sleep.

Ok ok, I am not being fair.

But then again there is also Soma from Food Wars who has currently not slept in 5 days and is entirely unaffected.

The main characters of "Doctors" (admittingly not anime... but cross culture and all that) who have said they sleep on average 5 hours a week.

Card Captor Sakura has a bunch of characters struggling with fatigue, for various reasons including all-nighters.

Card Captor Sakura has a bunch of characters struggling with fatigue, for various reasons including all-nighters.

Bayblade also has a plotline where the main characters are in trouble due to lack of sleep and need what amounts to a 5-10 minute nap.

Yamino Pastichie also has one of the main characters mess up a dish because he hasn't sleep in a week...
-Same anime... The main characters regularly don't sleep or stay up most of the night... yet aren't affected by sleep deprivation. Though to give credit they at least mention that it is a hindrance. It isn't like I haven't done tests without sleep and passed.

And heck Gara of the Sand has some of the slowest reflexes in the show only saved by the fact that the sand acts independently of him... with huge unhealthy black circles over his eyes and a constant labored voice. It isn't as if he is unaffected by sleep deprivation.

So you complain that anime characters often go without sleep for long periods of time without suffering consequences...then proceed to list several examples of anime characters suffering from sleep deprivation (including a character that you previously listed on the other side of the discussion).

Please don't join any debating teams.
