It's pretty pointless for me to continue ripping on Bleach, but I want to say that I love the opening and ending songs, they're literally the best part of the show. Actual effort and skill was invested into these, people that talent had to work on them, it's obvious. Especially the ending song where it shows all the characters in the (extensive, pointlessly large) cast in a realistic, cool urban setting, and I just can't stop thinking how much more interesting that is! It looks so much cooler!

You sayin' Mahouka is better than that? I prefer meh to blatant power fantasy that works its way to alter reality just to make its protagonist OP, all the while making everyone as non-knowledgeable as elementary school students participating a college level activity just to make him incredibly wise.

Nothing beats the Mahouka "love speech" in episode 7. Fans told me how different couples hook up in the series, as proof it's "not a harem".

But in the main example of that in the anime, the newly in love girl is asked how they got together, and gives a long-winded monologue about how MC Gary Stu was her first choice, but she was too much of lame-ass loser to be worthy of dating him, so settled for some other schmuck, who's only good quality she notes is "ordinary, like me, so we match!" Not kidding at all. She does this in front of everyone including her new boyfriend, who seems happy to be even mentioned alongside Gary Stu who is a clear author's self insert (same initials as the author). If you can believe it, the author acts like he's jealous of other male characters he created himself if they end up with a girl, and his self-insert MC misses out. The guy probably faps to the girls he's writing about.

Beat that, Asterisk War.

I remember getting a fair way through ZnT, I think right up until big-tit-elf-girl happened and I went 'fuck it, clearly the storyline has been moved to seventh rank, I'm outta here'.


However in regards to Re: Zero, I agree that the show is equal parts 'Oh my god now that I'm out of the frustratingly depressing bit this is weirdly awesome' and 'Oh my god why do I feel like a new frustratingly depressing bit is going to happen'.

But I do like that the plot tends to advance independent of the character development every reset. Like, he learns more about the villain or some such, and thus it can be called upon in future areas.

Of course nobody has yet to call him on how knows so much about the Unholy Forces Of Chaos.

I'm just impressed at the battery that thing has in it. I think they said he's been there months at least. Even with the time loops, and assuming that he keeps the thing off most of the time, that's not normal.

I got that impression too, but they said "about a month" at one point towards the end of that time period, I don't remember exactly when. That count was since they (or Emilia) had met him, though, not the whole time in the capital.

Might not the battery charge reset when the loops occur? So it would only drain in objective time rather than experiential.
