I may watch Haifuri then. How bad is the porn you mentioned earlier, considering watching the anime on the bus, what time should I skip?

It's not people porn, at least based on the image they linked. The picture is a ship.

By "naval porn" he means gratuitous amounts of naval hardware, boats, shooty stuff. Similar to slang like "milporn" which means a fixation on all things military.

Ahh, so like when people say stuff like scenery porn where the scenery is just beautiful (like the relevant tvtropes page says), but instead of scenery it's naval stuff? Girls und Panzer had a few naval OVAs

We really could do with a better phrase for that kind of thing.

... yeah. Also consider that if a term can't be safely image searched then it shouldn't be used in a new context. "Naval porn" produces zero relevant hits (do not do this*). "Naval fanservice" is at least in the right genre, but not the right screencaps.

Watched the first two episodes of Ristorante Paradiso, and it's interesting in that it's a Josei, is very cultural and classy, and has a female main character that's goddamn thirsty, Jesus. Like, calm down woman!

Will continue watching.

If you saw Kancolle and thought "I wish the tits were smaller"
I don't think this is a common sentiment in Kancolle's audience.
Anime died in [year] when [obscure anime I like] died, now all we get is [anime I think is popular but is actually obscure] clones
Anime's death is more a matter of business models not being sustainable in a modern internet context. And I wouldn't call it a true death, it just means that a financing model other than "LN publishers pay for it to advertise their books" and "Sell BDs" needs to arise.
Kiznaiver is looking pretty darn interesting. It actually reminds me of Kokoro Connect and... whatever that other one was that I can't remember. I like the combination of wonky artwork and trippy setting. Not sure what direction it's going in just yet.
I was really impressed by the visuals at first, but I feel like that fell off a bit in the second episode, and the writing continued to not really wow me. Maybe it's a matter of taste, but it feels overwrought and trite rather than the usual Trigger staple of over-the-top and enjoyably cheesy. Too direct of a focus on (melo)drama, perhaps.

"Naval porn" produces zero relevant hits (do not do this*).
Did you mean: Navel porn

I guess Google's predictive searching is actually quite good, because that did capture my curiosity at least. Gay sailor buttsex would have been utterly  boring in comparison.

So it's interesting in that it's a Josei? They tend to be "cultural and classy" as a general rule, and I don't think a "thirsty" MC is particularly out of genre either.

So this Haifuri show, is it like GuP where all the combat is basically a non-lethal sport or are these schoolgirl-crewed battleships actually duking it out?

I watched the first three episodes of Joker Game, and the show really hasn't done a good job communicating what it's going to be about. The plot of the first two episodes seemed to be setting up some potentially interesting pieces, where the main character's notions of honor and fair play would be challenged as he's thrown into the cynical world of spies, but then episode three comes along. It changes perspective to a different character, skips forward three years, moves the action to France, has a somewhat cliched amnesia plot, and nothing of any consequence happens. I don't really want to continue watching this show if it's just going to be episodic one-shots with mediocre spy action.

Yeah they're actually trying to kill/not get killed.

I haven't seen the second episode yet. Could go either way. I like a bit of melodrama though so vov

It's only 10 episodes too, which is both good (doesn't take several weeks to watch) and bad (just not enough vampire action).
