He meant "freeken dead" in the narrative sense. "It's obvious that they're going to kill him off."

It's nice how he spoilered the bits that gave that context to it.

I refuse to believe that this fantasy universe has no games.
This is a translation issue. "geimu" is a loanword which specifically applies to video games.

I guess you have to actually watch it in order to see how much of a non-spoiler it is.

Wow, the plots really thickening on Ojisan to Marshmallow. I didn't expect this to have any sort of plot progression.

I don't get why... but for some reason Grimgar is really boring me.

Maybe I shouldn't marathon it and watch 5 hours of it in a row.

Some shows are definitely not made for marathoning. Two that come to mind for me were Pani Poni Dash (would have enjoyed this better in smaller doses) and Jigoku Shoujo (episode format was so repetitive that it would have been a lot better in weekly installments).

Most shows are not designed to be marathoned. This isn't netflix. Grimgar in particular is a good one to watch while also doing something else. It's a nice setting to let your mind wander but that's about as far as it goes.

Yeah, it's very slow and deliberate with its pacing with only short bursts of more intense action or the like, it's a good show to unwind with as it isn't too hard to follow.

Sure, the flags for it are up, but it is better to let people get to that lil detail on their own.  Rather then airing it for everyone who has never seen it.  It is a spoiler in that sense.

Spoiler: Iron blooded orphans (click to show/hide)

Edit:

And on to Grimgar, pretty good episode, lots of nice action, I especially liked the escape part, the way they just naturally work together really shows how tight of a group they've become.

Also Ranta took a very unexpected level in badass, now it almost matches his giant idiot level :D

Just watched Highschool DxD.
It was pretty damn great action, plus hey, tits.
Did not expect to get that invested in a ecchi anime.
Gonna watch the other two seasons tomorrow probably.

Tried Konosuba again. I really want to like the show. The premise is great and I love the wacky fantasy world thing that's going on, but the humour kills it for me. The characters are mean and unlikeable. I can appreciate schadenfreude, but the tone of it makes the misfortunes lack any humour and merely seem terrible.
Admittedly a couple of the jokes hit a tad to close to home for me, which I can't really blame the show for, but it certainly doesn't help my opinion of it.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Yeah, these new shitty shows don't hold a candle to the good old shitty shows of yesteryear. I mean Sabagebu for example. That one plays up the mean and back-stabbing characters, but was a heap funnier than any of these RPG-world comedies, but I don't know how many people actually watched that. I recommend it.
