So i watched the first 2 episodes of "One Punch Man".
As someone who had not watched any anime since... hmm... pokemon and that parody of Yu-Gi-Oh name i forgot i find this hilarious.
It's basically a deconstruction of dragonball and it's out of control power creep.

It is a deconstruction of a LOT of things :P

For example One Punch Man BARELY is involved in any of the plots and has a rather boring story... yet inserts himself and solves everyone else's issues, even though by all means he has no real connection to the plot (Like a LOT of anime characters I can think of... Hello Yakkate Japan)

It's one of the only Japananisms I really just can't get used to.

That being said it's a crazy popular kink, so maybe I'm the weird one.
Interestingly, the incest plot was a staple of Western literature until the Victorian era, at which point they really stamped that sort of thing out. So ... it's less a case of Japan being different as Anglo culture has basically exterminated the trope.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/BrotherSisterIncest/Literature
Examples include the novel Frankenstein, and Wagner's Ring Cycle.

I mean I can appreciate Incest plots that some animes try to pull off with dignity (Wixoss being a huge one. A+)

But it is when the Incest plots basically amount to fapping material, in a book that isn't porn, that I just go O_o? at it.

Meaning he is also a mockery of fanfiction making the anime absolutely perfect.

Makes me think of Robert Heinlein and Piers Anthony. Both authors include incest and pedo as comedic elements in some of their sci-fi novels. The west definitely has this. And I'm not even digging very deep here.

EDIT: Checked out episode 1 of the HaruChika anime, it's another school band anime which looks similar to the Hibiki Euphonium one that aired in July. Looked at the manga, and it's publication date is October, making the entire thing look like an attempt to cash in on Hibiki. The emphasis is different, however, the music club in HaruChika is only 5 people, not a full band, and the main part of the episode was solving a mystery that involved musical notation. Overall the idea is looking half-baked.

so our hero the weapon tatsuyacht is a clan pearl of the yotsuba clan who discovered that making a destructive demigod would mean that they made a time bomb instead for everyone in the world

so they started resenting the guy and created/modified miyuki to seal tatshitya's powers, all the while sealing his emotions excluding love for his sister, in the brotherly way

and cheesy mc cheese shit says that

"miyuki was made only for you."

"wait, miyuki only for me, not I only for miyuki...?"

"yes because technobabbel we must containz ur powerssssss"

I give up.
This is amazing. I can't stop laughing. Irregular really is the best series to get entertainment from without actually watching.

Also now I see why Neo keeps saying it's gotta, gotta be parody yet isn't. If they made a One Punch Man equivalent of this sort of thing I'm pretty sure it'd go exactly the same.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged
No it was not an abridged Yugioh.
I think it was called duel monsters.
It was a similar premise but i think i remember the characters acting like outright parodies.
I might be wrong tho because i watched it on TV AGES ago.

Thanks Google.

Heinlein definitely loved his atypical sexual/romantic/matrimonial relationships.

Koukaku no Pandora - unwatchable fanservice drek. Fanservice isn't even good enough to save this.

Musaigen no Phantom World - unwatchable school club drek. You can't really tell from the synopsis but you can tell from the artwork. http://myanimelist.net/anime/31442/Musaigen_no_Phantom_World
Basic no-personality highschool boy recruits a club full of magical moe highschool girls to hunt phantoms who appear at random to annoy people. Later, they fight an evil conspiracy. Forgettable utter shit in other words.

Well it was bad. Still it says a lot about how often i watch anime.
Polish TV almost completely removed anime from its lineup around the first half of 2000.
Now it's completely gone outside of specialty channels and i'm not one for actively seeking it.

Whatever they consider worth showing on foreign TV stations is usually the worst possible anime they make, although this is getting less true in the last few years.

Seriously my eyes glaze over if anyone even mentions any of those magical monster or card-game, or battle animes. They weren't even the good ones when they started coming out.

Dual Masters was a Wizards of the Coast attempt to market a card game in Japan. After Magic made it there it kindof lost its purpose and was discontinued at some point last year.

That said, I think it did do something right

Bubuki Buranki this show also has kids with superpowers, but the setup was a million times more interesting than
Musaigen no Phantom World. Has issues however since they use obvious cell-shaded 3D characters which look fine in still shots but are obvious when they move. Also, the show want to be gritty but doesn't have enough blood or death because they want to keep it kid-safe. So ... probably a little south of the watchable line.
