So I was looking through a list of anime and I saw one with monster in the title and I was like "maybe I'll get lucky and it is a monster rancher type dea"

and it was Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou...

It is an INCREDIBLY Echi title (like REALLY Echi >_<) about a guy who lives with a bunch of monster girls.

I know it is just perverted schlock but part of me is kind of really interested... because it kind of goes into detail about just basic anatomy, living conditions, and social aspects that if explored deeper would be incredibly interesting.

I WISH this show wasn't perverted schlock... Heck I could handle it being perverted if it actually handled character development and setting well.

That is why it is so damn embarrassing.

Then again it certainly is a LOT more interesting right now... schlock and all then Dungeon devolved into.

On the PLUS side... Fairy Tale has swung back into being good... YAY! Yeah it has stuff that bugs me, but after that tournament arc I was worried it was going to suck forever!

I also watched Overlord and right now!!! it is a really slow starter. But I love the overlord's design. Honestly the manga artist deserves a A+ for that design. Even the staff looks perfectly foreboding without being over designed or tacky (like the VAST majority of World of Warcraft)

For what it's worth, it's a best-selling manga ... in America, which is that thing I was saying a while ago about how ecchi harem manga are only really best-sellers outside Japan. It doesn't even blip on the top 50 in Japan.

If you want a good exploration of a world of monster people, try the manga called "Centaur no Nayami" which ranges from cute to conspiracy theory.

Edit:300 years ago there was an event called the calamity war. The Space colonies were divided up between Earth's nations in the aftermath, and the MCs are from Mars. They travel to Earth protecting a girl who wants to declare martian independence, and the Earths goverment hires mercenaries stop them. Half-step INDEED! It might as well be the scientific measurement.

As for ecchi never making it into the top 50 in Japan... there are a few but they fall under what I'd call "Incidentally Ecchi" as they are titles that didn't really advertise themselves as much. 1000% negami or whatever it is... is one of them.

Though as for Japan's rankings you should check if Ecchi titles CAN make it into the top 50
