And the second half is the better half.
Personally I actually like the first half better, simply because up to that point it kinda feels like everything works out in the end, whereas the second half gets bittersweet REALLY fast and stays there.

That's a major reason why I like KLK better. Everybody lives, everything is awesome forever.

Read or Die is p cool.
If I don't read it, will I die?

I can't think of Fist of the North Star without thinking of Dub of the North Star (the Abridged series, basically).

Featuring such lines as, "I'll do it when the sun's not looking!"

Wow Corpse Party Book of Shadows was... pretty bad all things considered.

I have a feeling though that they changed their mind part way through making the game. Since it starts off having one story and then switches to an entirely separate story.

Probably because they started making the third game halfway through the second.

Ultimately it felt like if you combined CP1 and CP2 you would have only had one fully complete game.

Also sounds odd >_> but I kind of think the RPGmaker version was a bit... more charming then the Visual novel version.

I have watched a tiny bit of Kill la Kill, but the fanservice is kinda too blatant and obnoxious, so I stopped.

Yet, most badass magical girl show ever. Also the main character seems cool enough for me to be interested, but FANSERVICE BEING THROWN IN YOUR FACE ALL THE TIME.

I'm not watching a Gurren Lagann-style show to see fanservice all the time. I'm watching a Gurren Lagann-style show to see badassery and crazy awesome.

Also I must watch Legend of Galactic Heroes. I hear it is not only manly as all fuck but it has interesting characters and it's not the always-the-same shonen good vs evil stuff* or the 2edgy4u horror/action type stuff.

Although I do really like Berserk, Black Lagoon and Hellsing. But it was mostly because of badassery and more depth that just action flicks. That and interesting characters.

*does not apply to Hunter X Hunter

Must watch FMA as well. Maybe the Fate series as well...

Finished Gundam Reconquista in G. I have to say this was hands-down the worst Gundam I've ever watched, though I'm sure there are worse ones I've yet to watch. The best part of it was the art, it made good use of the retro character style combined with some modern digital effects and backgrounds. Unfortunately the story was all over the place, with events having seemingly little interconnection to what happened before. I was left constantly wondering who everyone was because new characters, and entire factions, are constantly being added or removed from the plot with little reference to what happened before. It had that "what's going on now?" feeling you get when you didn't pay enough attention to the previous episode of a show, except in this case going back to previous episodes doesn't help at all to work out what's going on at any moment: entire factions just appear out of thin air without any foreshadowing.

On an opposite note, I also just finished Shirobako, the anime about the anime production studio. That ended with the opposite vibe to Gundam Reco. Rather than "thank god that's over now", I'm going to miss Shirobako. Both shows have very large casts of characters with new ones appearing all the time. But at least you could work out what the story in Shirobako was meant to be about. Shirobako is one of those rare slice of life shows with more substance.

Legend of Galactic Heroes is good.

My only warning is that it is a very old anime and thusly it has a snails pace.

Expect long drawn out sequences of people in stilted conversations with very little else.

The fanservice is an integral part of Kill la Kill. By watching it, you grow used to it. You do not get used to the feats of badassery and crazy awesome.

I gotta be honest - the fanservice in Kill la Kill gets so obnoxious that I can't actually process most of the characters as being attractive, and I think that might be intentional. What I'm certain of, though, is that it actually has a point. It's not just gratuitous nonsense justified by a flimsy in-universe explanation that they could've written any other way. I mean, it is justified by a flimsy in-universe explanation, but taking it away would actually weaken the story and the metaphor it stands for.

Whether or not you want to put up with it, though, is a different matter entirely. Rather like deciding whether or not to put up with the gore in things like Attack on Titan. I think it's worth it, but can't promise you will.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Indeed.

Because of the way the show handles it and portrays the character's reaction to being forced into scenarios that it frequently presents, I really didn't get much of a fanservicey vibe at all strangely. Like, it kinda hits you pretty hard in episodes 1 and 2, but by 3 it had reached the point where it didn't even feel sexual at all, just because of the way that they kept portraying it in the show and some of the messages they brought in about it. It's like it was so over the top it ceased to be fanservice and became some kinda parody about fanservice that was no longer fanservicey if you can get what I'm thinking.
