For one, one of the main characters is a pug dog, and not a talking one to boot.

Not really, he's a side character in one arc, and you have to sit through 50 episodes before he even appears. I wouldn't call him very high on the character roster. There are 112 volumes in the manga, and he appears in a 7 volume run.

In today's episode of Kancolle we had possibly the biggest revelation yet.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Also, the Yamato joined the IJN shortly before the Battle of Midway, which it did not participate in. Just saying. Anyway, next episode is titled "Kai Ni poi?".

...so how much are you guys willing to bet that the entire purpose of today's new attack was so that Bandai could sell special edition clear plastic Build Burnings in every color of the rainbow.

Though it was impressively looking and made me glad to see Sekai chain his attacks together without saying JIGEN HAOH SCHOOL before every move, the fact that it was such an asspull compounded on the shows previous issues kinda ruined it.

Gundam Build Fighters Try

My prediction came true with the exception that the villain made the heroes own speech.

I am in this odd position while watching it lately... In that I've kind of started to want the villains to win. If only because they seem to deserve the victories more. This is the second time they lucked out a victory against an opponent who really should have by all means trounced them.

I dunno it is like watching a one on one basketball game where the "villain" practices really hard, uses strategies that go around the heroes, and has a very clear polished play style and has managed to score 20 of the 21 required baskets while the hero hasn't got a single one.

So the Hero uses his "multiball" power last second and his final basket counts for 21 points.

Not much to say about this episode except that it is weak once again... Yet somehow weaker then the usual answer to "What is strength?" It is like the anime heard my complaints about the first season and was like "What? you are complaining that every battle ends with the same move? Well we will show you! It could be much worse! We could just pull out a new power every episode to squeak out a victory until the last two battles". Ok ok in all fairness this episode did have a funny joke.

Yeah it's really troubling that at this point basically all the contestants that were present at the Gunpla Training Camp, including the protagonists, make up the least interesting portion of the cast members overall.

Also it is a crime that the X-1 Full Cloth had no speed metal during its appearance.

Thankfully the fans have rectified that.

Hopefully it'll get an appropriate theme next week. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

They even circumvented their own characters.

So they have a "Wannabe Meijin" and the real Meijin shows up and demonstrates the leagues of differences between the two.

So the Wannabe is going to buckle down and try to act like a true Meijin and uphold fairness and inspire others to greatness right?

NOPE! the Real Meijin never leaves and even has himself a female copy who might as well be his female, blonde haired, clone for all she differs from him... and they act like the Meijin.

Then Rival with the Cloak is CLEARLY a case of mistaken identity... so the rivalry is basically set up to be weak, but at least they somewhat developed one.

But the worst of them is the rivalry between the two women pilots who have no reason to be rivals. It has nothing to go on except MAYBE the love triangle that doesn't exist. Couldn't they have made her the apprentice of female Meijin thus giving her a good reason to be her rival? Heck have her defeat Female Meijin that would instantly make them rivals. Right now they are basically rivals because "We are girls"

It isn't that the show is bad... but it is like they refuse to use their own premise, likely because of executive mandate.

I want this to be good and I don't think this season had to be as weak as it currently is.

Yeah. Another theory about the quality of the show is that Sunrise is overstretching its resources with how its having at least 3 different Gundam projects in development simultaneously. Some of the stuff they've done recently with reusing footage and making the fight scenes shorter than they should have been seems to imply budget issues.

Also its incredibly weird that the show made no acknowledgement at all about where Denial Gundam came from considering recent chapters of Yuuki's backstory manga Gundam Build Fighters A have revealed that it was originally built by the Second Meijin.

At least though we are on the last two fights.

Meaning that if there was any reason to pick up the quality of the show it would be because of the climax. So I am looking forward to them pulling out all the stops.

I mean, it is FAR too close to the end for them to pull out a new power out of their butts. So I am looking forward to this next battle.

Doesn't sound all that interesting as a game/VN, but the reviews on Steam are absurdly hilarious.

In case anyone is interested, I do not recommend Neko-Para unless you're looking for soft subservience harem porn. The visuals are absolutely delightful, but it's not doing a lot for me.

It also has a boob-bounciness slider. So yeah. Highly recommended as soft pornography. Not recommended for anything else.
To me there seems to be a trend with adult VNs releasing on steam with parts removed but easily patchable. Course, I bought Nekopara outside of steam to get the full version plus its not on my steam account :D
