There should be a Quest or something about fighting an alien invasion with of a crossover force of MS Girls (for space), Kancolle, Strike Witches, and uh... Darnit I can't think of any quintessential moe tank power armor thing.
FTFY~

Though I think that's more or less the plot of that blue arpeggio thing so eh.

Though for what it's worth, I do vaguely recall lovehammer having moe power armor.

They're making an anime out of Red Dragon. AKA the story created by having four japanese writers (and one illustrator) play an rpg dmmed by one of the guys who made Lodoss, where Kinoko Nasu plays a heroic knight guy with a munchkined together OP power with odd rules directing its use involving conceptual nonsense that results in him carrying around a ridiculous amount of swords, and Gen Urobuchi plays a full on edgy assassin.

That promo-picture thing is quite possibly the most anime thing I've seen in the last bit of time.

It looks like it might be amazing ;_;

... has anyone read/translated the transcripts?

Though if it does turn out popular, sweet zeus the yaoi that's going to come out of it ;_;

Yeah there are some translations on the Beasts Lair forums. It has its own translation thread there.

Well, this is either going to be the best thing since sex, or the single greatest trainwreck in living memory. I'm looking forward to it.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

They're making an anime out of Red Dragon. AKA the story created by having five japanese writers play an rpg dmmed by one of the guys who made Lodoss, where Kinoko Nasu plays a classic knight guy with an OP power with odd rules directing its use, and Gen Urobuchi plays a full on edgy assassin.
From what I saw of Red Dragon a few years ago it looked extremely silly.

I'm in. Who wouldn't want to see a D&D game with Nasu and Urobuchi as players.

That's all it took to sell me. Lodoss was fun, and I love me some campaign writeups.

I'm only vaguely aware of who those are, but now I'm curious why campaigns featuring famous creative people aren't more common and frequently adapted. It sounds like it'd be a gold mine.

Eh... an amazing writer isn't necessarily going to be an amazing roleplayer. Creativity in one realm does not always (often, not even readily) translate into creativity in another. Cooperative storytelling is a pretty different sort of thing than storyboarding, world creation, etc., etc., etc.

It would be neat to see more stuff like that, though. I rather imagine if this thing actually catches on, we'll see an uptick in such.

Speaking of Lodoss, is Lodoss any good? I hear it's literally "Dungeons and Dragons: the Anime".

I... never actually got around to watching much of it. Most folks that have speak fairly well of it, though. Also the SNES game is pretty alright.

Record of Lodoss War was created in 1986 by Group SNE as a Dungeons & Dragons "replay" serialized in the Japanese magazine Comptiq. Replays are not novels, but transcripts of RPG sessions, meant to both hold the interest of readers and convey the events that took place.

Yeah, it's literally D&D the anime, with all the classes, races, and monsters you know and love.

Record of Lodoss War is an awesome poster child.

Red Dragon, will definitely give it a chance.
