Ahm...

Well, TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN!!!!! Is relatively short (27 eps.), AWESOME (like pouring the magma into those hippies), and, well, simple enough. (27 x 1/2 hour = 13.5, and I think one episode is a flash-back filler (basically to fill the gap between the first part and the second part of it)

I searched for it at that site, and either I fail at the interface or it isnt one of the ones available for free there. Also, from what litle I could tell from a one sentence description and a thumbnail it seemed a bit to kinky?

Hmm, there are not many hobby-made anime, that's for sure... But...

I have some recommendation, but you must answer this question first:

Do you mind a series that's only comprised of girls? Also, nearly all is loli?

Depends on what you mean. If you mean all/most characters happens to be little girls, I don't mind to much. If you mean it's pedo softporn, then no thanks.

I'm just after any kind of animation that has good serious storytelling and art. I'm not interested in "fanservice" which will just squick me out, and as far as action goes I'm rather indifferent and think it should serve the plot.
On the other hand I don't want to mundane stuff, some decent fantasy and/or scifi (the scifi shuld preferably be hard, but it's not a requirement) elements are preferred.

I like anime I just can't find any good anime at this point.

I don't mean to be the guy who only comes into this thread to scream "PLANETES," but... you should look into it, because it fits your description exactly.  It's hard sci-fi with a great story (with memorable, well developed, non-cliched characters), above average animation, less fanservice than anything else I've seen, and infrequent but striking action scenes.

A few months ago, the English sub was on Youtube in HD, but unfortunately it's been taken down.  There's still an English dub in HQ but I can't vouch for its quality.

HEH! I don't know there is more to a good anime then good Storytelling and Art

I mean Princess Tutu is probably one of the most Artistic Animes out there if you pay attention and with a pretty good story (and with less Fanservice then Powerpuff Girls Z) but it will likely entirely weird you out.

It looks good from that description, but crunchyroll when I search it seem to have had it removed by the company that made it, which makes me think the chances of finding it legally available for free are slim.

So I guess I'll have to ask for suggestions to keep coming.
Note that while I have stated a lot of PREFERENCES, the only REQUIREMENT is that it's SFW, if I weren't at least a little prepared to expand my genre horizons I wouldn't be asking for an anime right?

Correct (well, I'm not sure the dubbing is notably bad, but it's never good).  If you're looking for anime that's 1) worthwhile, 2) free and 3) legal, I'm afraid you'll probably have to pick two of those.

Yes Armok, Code Geass definitely does. If you're nit-picky like me, you'll see a lot of things wrong with it, but for any ordinary person it's great and then some. Code Geass is separated into two 26 episodes seasons, and has a definite, no cliffhanger ending.
