I just looked at the other stuff from the lady who wrote Mitsu x Mitsu Drops. Yeah, 50 shades sounds on the same level. Most of this looks like smutty shoujo, and from the few with a detailed synopsis, a verbally abusive, rich bishonen dude seems to be a common theme.

But it isn't entirely about what is done so much as the context.

Familiar Zero for example gets my ire because there is nothing distinguishing the "Hilarious physical abuse!" from real physical abuse and it is painted as something kinky and hilarious.

This sounds like "I did all this abusive things to you and you happened to like it immensely" which is already lower on the "horrible" rung.

It sounds a lot like 50 shades except without the whole "Ana doesn't like being treated that way, she isn't a submissive, and the only reason she is putting up with this is out of a crippling fear of being alone" :P.. As well this anime sounds pornographic (meaning you are meant to get off on its sleezyness) which not only more then knocks it down a few notches on the personal ire scale, but it means I won't watch it.

I have nothing good to say about that episode... So I won't say anything about it.

Heee.  I haven't been watching Try (not until the series finishes and I can do a steady run-through), but I'm sure you can think of one good thing about that episode.  I mean, it eventually ended, right?  ^_^

It isn't that the episode was absolutely terrible and it made me rage at the screen.

It is that it is the unfortunate 2nd part to what was otherwise a pretty great 1st part that made you go "Wow, how are they going to get themselves out of this one?"

If this episode stood on its own, it would be another "showing off, set up" episode. Meaning the episode was mostly filler if taken on its own.

Or rather... This episode didn't really impact me one way or another.

Huh? I'm surprised. I thought you would like Winning's HG mode Neo. Though yeah aside from that and the little bit of the battle where Sekai was completely sidelined, the last couple episodes have been really meh.

Also, I have to say that Haruhi joins Black Lagoon and Evangelion in the top ranks for best english dubs for anime i've ever heard.

Yeah the Haruhi dub is pretty damn well done. Add Baccano and Cowboy Beebop to that list of good dubs.

Hmm...

Seeing as how I've only watched SAO and Log Horizon, along with a couple of other episodes of various animes, I probably shouldn't chime in, but I really enjoy log horizon.
