I absolutely love Shirobako. It's just the right amount of "hey look cute anime" for me, and I get to see what production is actually like. Plus it's fun to watch the characters act and react under pressure.

I liked C because it presented an overwhelming obstacle in the form of the dangers of the shadow market (or whatever it's called), and the protagonist has to strike the middle ground and make some very hard decisions in order to get the resolution that saves the most lives.

But yeah, i've seen C, it's ok. What I meant was that I haven't seen an anime since Maoyuu that has used politics in such a way, like an anime version of game of thrones or a fantasy tom clancy novel.

I started watching an anime called "No game No Life".  The first episode wasn't bad, but the second episode was so nauseatingly dumb I'm not sure I want to keep watching.  Anybody happen to know if it stays stupid so I know whether or not to switch to something else now? 

(how the hell do the Japanese STILL find "awkward guy trips and falls on girls boobs and squeezes" funny when its been done 50,000 times already???)

From I've heard of No Game No Life from this thread... It doesn't get much better and is chock full of the junk you're complaining about. So in other words, I would probably stop watching if I was you.

It is more then that, they also have a society based very highly around politeness and not being a burden. As well as being highly repressed but with a strong belief of "if behind closed doors go wild" (when they aren't actually banning porn).

But think of it this way... They are incredibly sexually repressed, obsessed with politeness and not inconveniencing people.

OHH!!! look! Our hero has just falling into a sexual situation that he is forced to go through that is not only incredibly impolite BUT a clear imposition... whoa isn't that wacky?

Of course, if it wasn't funny to those outside Japan as well, it probably wouldn't have become an issue there. Maybe it's just a tagalong effect, in that some of the dumb popular things they produce have dumb unpopular things within them, but it's a pretty airtight marriage if so.
