So I decided to read Berserk. It's pretty good.

Ah, just wait until it gets rolling and finds it's feet. I felt like Arc 0 was really sort of meandering and indistinct, before Miura found his direction.

Also I can't stop watching that punch gif. It's so fluid. So mesmerizing.

I liked it enough to make a .webm of the entire fight.

Mm, that arc before it flashes back to the Golden Age arc feels almost like a pilot episode, and then the whole of the first hundred chapters taken together are basically a prologue to the ongoing main plot.

The Black Swordsman Arc was really similar to Berserk the Prototype, just a really basic "angry guy with sword" thing. I don't think he actually sparked on to something until after he added Femto at the end of it and had a plot materialize.
