As a longtime fan of Gundam, my favorite bit in Build Fighters was when Ral took what's-his-name to the Zeon bar. That was a great moment for me.

Speaking of Build Fighters, if /m/'s reaction to the first episode of Try is anything to go by, expect a scarcity of HG Dom gunpla kits in the near future.

I keep getting this half-formed mental image of a mobile suit made from Balls, lately. Since about half-way through watching Build fighters. It would move like General Grevious from those Star Wars cartoons and be able to shift orientation on the fly -- upside down, sideways, whatever. Ballbeley cares not. Cannon fire everywhere, and a grapple monster from hell in close combat. All those reaching pincers, like some kind of freakish amalgamation between a cyclops, a centipede, and an artillery battalion. Probably heat axes or whatev' for graspable melee weapons, I'unno.

It wouldn't be, like. A mobile suit with the head or torso replaced by a Ball, though. It would be a bunch of Balls lashed together in a humanoid shape, cannons and all. Maybe with a head, maybe not -- the main mass could possibly have extra Balls in it, for freely re-orientating head-equivalent.

... and now I'm watching After War X. Ep 6, so far. Can I just say that Federation containment methodology in regards to power generation is farcically terrible? Like damn. I think the only appropriate term for what's being shown is "Cavalcade of Incompetence". Or maybe something outright malicious, I'unno. We've got better safety measures with decades-old technology, and fancy space magic future tech can't even manage something like an auto-shutdown feature. It hurts my suspension of disbelief ;_;

And that's saying something, considering the setting.
