I was thinking of all the "Lost femininity" plotlines of anime... and how they tend to be garbage/sexist... but as I was doing so I was like "Ok, we know how they typically go wrong... but how about the ones that went well"
And so far of every anime I've seen... The best plotline of this type I've seen in an anime that doesn't infuriate me... (Yeah you can tell how hard I am trying not to give examples)
Actually somehow is Inuyasha's Kikiyo >_>
Because they actually do spend a long time establishing her character and showing how she lives as well as the relationship between her and Inuyasha. So by the time they get to "And I rediscovered I was a woman" it did so through character rather then purely through gender... to the extent where it even could have been gender flipped. Don't get me wrong even it doesn't entirely escape the "She is a delicate flower" aspect, but never does it state that she should not fight, only that her job is so all absorbing she could never be anything but a holy warrior and is doomed to its lonely ever vigilant existence... or rather it never makes us assume she is somehow diminished like a lot of other animes do.
Is there a better version of this storyline out there in anime land?
Cause I want to collect some good versions so everytime I go "DANG IT ANIME!" I can go "Why couldn't you have done it this way?"

Also I am glad I finally have a lot of good anime to watch.
You have to understand... I am someone who analyses whatever I am watching, often deeply... as part of my watching enjoyment.
So for Ippo for example, which you seen me do a lot of posts for... It is because I already spent hours characterizing everyone and categorizing their relationships and abilities.
