As for SAO, I'd call it bad but in the not painful to watch kind of way. I can't think of anything particularly redeeming about it, but I managed to get through the first season so apparently it did something right somewhere in there.

In all honesty I think SAO would have been more entertaining if they never found out who Heathcliff was. According to the author if they reached floor 90 then 8 more unique skills would get distributed to the playerbase, which could have given the rest of the cast time to shine.

I don't know that this would have solved anything. Other cast members were still marginally relevant/able to not get one-shot for poorly explained, poorly displayed reasons. Adding a special snowflake skill to each probably wouldn't have done anything but let them look fancy and declare their skill before hacking at whatever they were fighting like normal.

I just watched the Petshop Of Horrors OVA, there's cute girls and rabbits in episode 1 of that too . Often those short OVAs feel like a drag even though they're only a few episodes, but this one was really entertaining. Adding the manga to my reading list.

You know, I think Mahouka's author got the hero side and "villain" side mixed up:

 MC hacks his team's stuff with upgrades that are basically outright cheating, but "technically" allowed, total asshattery stuff you'd normally expect the bad-guys in a series to pull, and we see the "bad guys" discussing how they're no different in skills, but the "hero" team are using these mad hacks which aren't approved for tournament use, with the MC actively gloating over it.

And we're expected to sit here and root for these sneaky bastards. I'm rooting for the villains now because they're not jerks like the MC's side. It doesn't help that almost no-one on the good guy side has got any character development or background story whatsoever. Tell me why I'm meant to be rooting for them again? coz they're all kawaii girls?

Oh and the big reveal about the real villains:

apparently some bookmakers have a lot of money riding on the game, Tatsuya's team are the odds-on favorites, and their mobster boss is going to have the bookmakers murdered if they have to pay out the money, so they rigged some games to help the other team win. The other rival team has nothing to do with this, and seem like perfectly nice people - hell Tatsuya is basically rigging the games himself. I'm rooting for the other team, because if they win, less people get murdered which gives me even less reason to support Tatsuya's side. We've never even seen these characters before, why would we support them being murdered off just so one specific group of highschool jocks win their sports carnival over rival highschool jocks?

Death Note did a better job making Light Yagami a sympathetic character as he murdered hundreds of people than this does.

... and they just keep winning and winning, without even trying. None of these sports even come close to the heroes having a chance at losing. How is that meant to be entertaining? Oh I stand corrected, all the male students lost their matches, only the haremettes win without breaking a sweat, mostly due to Tatsuya hacking up their gear. Thus further driving home how Tatsuya is the only manly man that counts at the school.

And we get a flashback to Tatsuya's failed highschool entrance exam. Apparently he failed the task so elegantly that girls swooned. Seriously. girls orgasm when he fails at stuff, he's just that manly.

Well my backlog is big enough so that I can go through all the shows and see which ones have the voice actors I like.

I've never seen an anime more creatively empty then this...

So I am watching an anime (don't ask why... I like card game animes) and it is called Future Card Buddyfight.

And basically there are these monsters who can become your "Buddy monster" and they convey upon you one ability.

And so far ALL of them have been flight with only one in the entire series not being based around it... and it was armor.

That aside, just the thought of a Sailor Moon adaptation that doesn't rely heavily on stock footage for the fights is excellent. And if they stick to the insanity of the manga plot and power levels...

I am most looking forward to the Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask actually being able to hold themselves during a fight.

Don't get me wrong they all had their great moments (Ohh man... have they).

I do hope they at least try to get some of the balance the original anime had. I've seen the Live Action "accurate" version and not everything I really enjoyed from it.

Heck... I know it gives the shaft to Tuxedo Mask in the anime... but I didn't mind what they did to his supporting characters.
