The first season is just examining random people and their deals with Jigoku Shoujo. The second season is better, it details a very large conspiracy that consumes an entire town.

Ive seen alot of anime, that list is out of date by like a year though. My favorite series are Last Exile, Eureka Seven and Ghost in the Shell (both seasons).  Code Geass, Gundam Seed/Destiny, Blood+, Naruto Shippuuden and Blech are among my other favorites.  Im probably forgetting a few but o well

I have yet to see season 2, I should but I am not really in the mood to download anything :\ have not been for a couple months.

Season one would be a lot better if there was some basic variance.

It's only:
Meet protagonist.
Meet bully/hellspawn of the earth.
Watch bully/hellspawn make protagonist's life living hell.
Protagonist sells soul for revenge.
Emma Ai and gang goes out to punish bully/hellspawn.
Bully/hellspawn deny that it's their fault.
Bully/hellspawn goes to hell on a boat.
Emma Ai says the same lines each episode.

But hearing about the second season gave me a reason to give it another chance.

Obviously, I'm not quite caught up on this thread yet, but... in response here.

The only bad things i can remember about it, is that although the main character is one of the most physically strong people on the show, he is a giant, incredible pussy when it comes to women. Hell, he only has one love interest, and bagging her would be a SNAP if he tried for even an instant.

1) She is the sister of "Shinagami" Mashiba (the lanky boxer with the funny arm movement guard). Mashiba worships her.

2) Momokura or whatever his name is, the greaser guy who fights middleweight seems to like messing with the protagonist. It's funny, most of the time. Glaring examples to the contrary are (almost) any scenes in the change rooms.

3) As you said, he (Hajime) is dutiful, hard working.. but a clueless wimp when it comes to women.

1) He has no reason to be fearful of Mashiba, in fact, it should be the other way around. Mashiba should be afraid of Ippo, because HE WAS DEFEATED BY HIM!

2) You mean Takamura? I have no idea what you're talking about. Takamura was a real likeable character though, never got enough of him.

3)The main character's name is not Hajime, it's Ippo Makunouchi.

Upon rewatching the first couple episodes of Death Note, Light is ALOT dumber than I remember him:

I mean, very early he learns that from his Dad's police files that they suspect students because of the careless way Light's been only killing people after school and before midnight. This isn't that bad, if Light had chosen to simply continue killing people in this fashion, he'd never get caught because he isn't telling L anything he doesn't already know. What's he gonna do? Investigate every student in Kanto? But noooo, Light feels the need to purposefully give away the fact that he has police information in order to antagonize L.

Light's an evil genius, way smarter than Lelouch, but it would seem he enjoys elaborate and dangerous conflicts with the only people capable of besting him moreso than taking the practical route and avoiding them altogether.
