Ohh I am referring to the moments in those series where the main character becomes completely naked and it is synominous to becoming extremely powerful.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying "ewww how non-unique kill la kill is" so much as saying "I wonder if it is a deconstruction of just that"

I did not think that and twas just friendly teasing. Buuuuut to continue the discussion, what you're describing is unrelated. KLK does have its own transformation sequence which ironically features less naked time than some magical girl transformation sequences as far as I can recall. (Admittedly that's partly cause the sequence happens pretty quickly since the show is about fighting instead of sparkles and so needs to maintain the pacing and tone). But yeah we're talking about the outfits they wear for the majority of the action.


Though I fell like I must point out to i2amroy to remind him that that rule kinda gets flipped on its head near the end of the show

The MC's are an exception since they wear extra special enhanced clothes stronger than the usual powered up ones made by characters who are very skilled at working with the material they're made of that are also designed to cover very little skin to avoid some side effects that wearing special clothes normally gives.

Whereas in the magical girl animes that Neo is bringing up, the nakedness is only momentary and a normal consequence of changing your clothes.

So yeah, I'm with Furt here. The two really aren't comparable.
