I, uh. I've enjoyed more SEED fanfiction than I have episodes. Do think I managed to get through most of the first season (Season thing, anyway.) when it was on TV with a missed episode here and there and, just. Ah. I can't really remember it, other than a vague sense of "I don't want to." Something about a red (pink?) haired psychopath and other junk? Details fuzzy.

Haven't seen Seed, but if its anything like 00 it must be pretty okay. 00 isn't my favorite Gundam: didn't like the first season (except for the ending, good lord you can't say the ending wasn't heartbreaking) and the second season avoided aping Wing as much as the first season did. Plus the part where the big thing collapses and all the mechs are trying desperately to save everyone is pretty sweet. I thought it was funny that you don't know why its called 00 until like mid-second season. That made me laugh.

Unicorn is fantastic.

I liked Code Geass a lot actually, and I was under the impression that it was pretty generally liked.

To admit Gundam Wing is one of the FEW gundam series that doesn't suffer from "Death Packed Ending Syndrome".

Which has always bugged me...

It also had the honour of hosting the Chariest Char since Char himself, which I found rather amusing.  Admittedly, though, I didn't catch that the first time I watched the series, since it was the first Gundam series I ever watched.  Plus, given some of the legal and moral wrangling that goes around with UAVs and drones today, it's actually somewhat amusing to go back and watch some of the navel-gazing Wing embarked on back in 1995 on the topic of automation in warfare.

SEED is to 0079 as 00 is to Wing. But it was received much worse. I never personally was around at the time when it came out, and most of my knowledge of it is secondhand, but I do know that /m/ absolutely despises it. However from what I can gather much of its current dislike got backwashed onto SEED from SEED Destiny.The most common complaints I've are that the recycled designs and ideas from UC are followed way too closely, that Kira and Lacus are portrayed as too invincible and infallible, and people acting like idiots a lot. Also that the Strike Freedom's color scheme is hideously overcomplicated.

True it is rare to find an anime so bad it actually manages to make another anime worse just by existing.
