Well now that Kill la Kill is done, I guess I should catch up on Space Dandy and finish up Shinsekai Yori and Princess Tutu. I look forward to seeing more come out of Studio Trigger in the future; I guess we already know Little Witch Academia 2 will be out sometime this year.

Princess Jellyfish: I've started watching this completely in the dark in regards to what it's about, purely due to the "WTF is it?" factor of the name. Is she an underwater princess who rules over a race of jellyfish people? Maybe she's a jellyfish who turns into human form to seek love amongst the surface people?

Well, I'm two episodes in and, well, it's not what I expected (although I had no real expectations). It looks pretty cool actually. I think that's one thing I really like about anime: with a title like that, it could have been just about anything imaginable.

In terms of analysis I pretty much agree with most people here. Still tons of fun though, and Gamagoori destroying the transmitter with impressions of his face was definitely a good moment.

While I agree that there's narratively very little room for a sequel, I'd like to posit a not-so-crazy fan theory as to how the story could potentially continue:

In the very final scene, we witness Ragyo pull out her own heart and crush it as a form of hara kiri rather than be defeated by her own daughter. The problem is: We've already seen Ragyo get her heart pierced, her head decapitated, her body crucified, and her entire frame bisected twice both longways and widthways simultaneously. Comparatively speaking, having her heart crushed is a very trivial boo boo to recover from, so what I'm thinking is: The action of pulling out her heart and crushing it activated a kind of life-fiber based active camo that made her invisible to Ryuuko ontop of faking her death, so she could retreat to safety and begin plotting for another day.

I mean, it makes sense to me atleast. Someone as insidious as Ragyo was bound to have plans B, C, D, E, F, G and so on and so forth to make sure her ambitions are realized, and once the cocoon genesis over the world was dispelled, she may have realized that Ryuuko and all her friends may have just placed all their eggs in one basket on this last ditch plan to stop her, so why not just hand them the 'victory' and retreat? Ragyo would be completely safe from that point onward as all her enemies have just voluntarily destroyed all the weapons that could possibly harm her. She could have as much time as her life-fiber enhanced body will give her in order to recoup her losses and place another plan into motion.

Just my krazy fan theory and desperate grab at further content.

I believe the best thing about KLK's New York is the Weyland Corporation. I geeked out a bit at that.

Interestingly, Weyland Corp combined with Yutani Corp, a japanese industry, and formed Weyland-Yutani Corp, the corporation responsible for the events of Alien and Aliens.

Mm... thread xenomorphs would be... pretty likely, I'd imagine. And a helluva' thought. Beyond the combat capabilities of something like that, a xenomorph in a dapper suit is, as always, a glorious thing.

Actually, I'm now suddenly finding myself curious as to what happens to thread-form sapients post-reproduction...

It's an OVA bundled with the 9th BluRay release. A 9 disk series, and September is the 9th month of the year, so I assume they've been releasing 1 volume each month starting in January.

EDIT: They don't seem to have anything else in the works, so I assume all efforts are going towards upgrading the animation for the disk releases.
