Latest episode of KLK kinda blew me away. When it finally ended, it looped back to the beginning and I just watched the ep over again. And then again a third time.

The level of pacing is just so intense, it's gotten to where every new ep is my new favorite.

This pacing is killing me. I couldn't believe it when I saw the blue on white text and credit roll. Following other anime is nothing like following KLK I guess, because you're not sure if you really -watched- the latest episode. Good thing there's a replay button.

Kotoura-san is also a cute heartwarming story and then goes to soul crushing depression all in the same scene. The titular Kotoura is a highschool girl with mind reading powers and shows all the problems with it in soul crushing flashbacks.

The first 10 minutes of episode 1 of Kotouro-san was great. After that, I felt it went seriously downhill - mood whiplash, she gets over her life-long crippling depression and social alienation about 10 seconds after meeting the male love interest. Flicks to school harem romcom most of the time (well starting from 10 minutes into episode 1), remembers to have a plot again about 3 episode before the end. The main issue is there are several competing themes/styles, but I don't feel they were very successful at integrating them into the whole.

Since the school club /romcom stuff takes up the most screen time, focusing on that, the biggest problem would be the constant joke reuse, and that the whole mysterious school club set up has been done to death. Plus, a lack of memorable side characters. I like Chuunibyo a lot better.

I love the OP song though, sung by Ranka's VA from Macross Frontier.

Full Moon Wo Sagashite.

I admit it isn't that good, but it is my favorite. But I really need an anime that I like just as much.

Dang me for liking redeemer characters (characters who redeem other people)...

I do admit I did like Liars game quite a bit, but it doesn't have strong rewatchability (Once you know how the games go...)

I also watched Fruit Baskets and it felt rather cut short (because it was)... and that is actually all the series I can think of where a Redeemer is a major character.

So I guess that is the anime I am going to look for next. A strong anime with a redeemer as a main character and an actual plot with stakes but isn't heavy all the time, but can get serious.
