Cheers Tellemurius and Draxis, that 100% makes sense. :)

Episode 17 of kill la kill was very much a surprise, I have to say. I think I'm starting to enjoy it a lot more now that the plot has been revealed more, and there is much less lewdness.

I'd argue that by episode 17 you've built immunity to the lewdness. There's still scantily clad females waving huge swords around and wearing talking lingerie, but it's pretty much normal by that point.

Agreed. I'm pretty sure if anyone else I knew saw it they'd immediately launch into jibes at me for it, but by now I pretty much see straight through it all. I guess using it constantly and repeatedly will have that effect.  :P

Having just watched the opening of Episode 21, you 'aint seen lewd yet.

You saw episode 21? but how--it's still three hours to release on Crunchyroll and for premium members only! That's impossibru--oh wait, Google came up with Anime4Fun.com. And it's got english subs...aw yuss. Praise the interwebs.

Relatively related side note, but Crunchyroll mentions Kill la Kill being delayed "due to production issues." I dunno if it means only one episode --episode 21 in this case--has been delayed to release later on Crunchyroll--as in 3 hours later at this point-- or if production of the series as a whole got delayed.

It's just the official English subtitles for whatever reason. The official German, Italian, Spanish, and Portugese subtitled versions are up on the Aniplex website.

Anyway, I'm going to hold strong for three more hours and then enjoy it in delicious HD.

You can also download it from underwater subs, who I am suspect your streaming site took it from (who have it in 720P btw).

Are all the people in Log Horizon orphans, or do they just hate their families

More probably, the author decided yet another game-world anime where nobody does anything except complain about being stuck in the game-world and all the stuff they're missing from the real world wasn't needed. We've seen enough bitching and moaning about being stuck in other shows, Log Horizon is refreshing in that sense.

Log Horizon is shaping up to be a multi-season thing in my opinion, the main plot is definitely not being resolved this season, the protagonists have only explored a tiny fraction of the "world" they inhabit (a small part of Japan, and the game world is a scale model of the whole Earth) and they are hinting at big events in a city in Japan to the West that none of the characters have been to yet, with only a handful of episodes left in this season. I hear that it's been mentioned that the author plans to expand the action to other countries.

This is a marvelous thing to have available for free. Praise the interwebs again.

...Anyway, after watching the latest episode in standard definition like a peasant, I can confirm that Kill la Kill is still [spoiler_alert]really awesome[/totally_not_spoilers]

Gotta hand it to these guys to pump out a sub within hours of network release. Crunchyroll still legal though (backed by Aniplex) and so far i seen very few errors so.

Just an idle thought, but I've sort of been hankering for bittersweet feels similar to Angel Beats!, any recommendations?

Who was the old one? Hoenheim?

I think it was the Dad from Evangeleon

Which to admit is a pretty hard dad to beat. Since it required Japan not to have child protective services.

Then again it is also a setting where psychologists don't exist either.
