On a completely unrelated note, I just watched School Days recently (Since everyone was reccomending it) and I (Dare I say it?) laughed through the whole thing, from Makoto getting called an idiot by Sekai in every episode, to Sekai's chest being ripped open by Kotonoha, and then her cradling Makoto's head on the yacht out at see saying "We're finally alone... together." I have decided after all of this, the next relationship I get in I will NOT do it the School Days way...

Also, they're not helplessly insane... they're helplessly in love, and love makes you do crazy things...

By the end of the show, Makoto has 4 girls in love with him, 1 which moves away (Green haired girl, name was Tsukoyo I beleive...), 1 dies (Sekai has her chest cut open by Kotonoha because she wants to know if Makoto actually got her pregnant, and upon inspecting this she says "As I thought... there's no one inside of you"), one idk (His friend from middle school, named Otome), and the other goes mad and is on a yacht with a head (And this is Kotonoha)... presumably to stay curled up until she starves... and gets laid with like over 10 different girls in less than a month... this is romance the School Days way, and it gets you stabbed multiple times...

I am biased against shows where...

1)the main protagonist is a child.

Or

2)the main protagonist is a ball-less sack of shit that can't approach women or talk about sex without MASSIVE NOSE BLEEDS!

Considering the prevalence of both of these things, my selection of anime that I enjoy is rather small.

Anyway, I'm thinking of checking out Fist of the North Star. It looks old, but really badass. Opinions?

It is totally bad ass. However, the plot is nonexistant. Essentially, just watch the first 5 episodes. Everything that happens is just the first 5 episodes, repeated, exaggerated.

Yes, it is possible to get sick of watching burly muscle men beat the living shit out of each other.

Here's the rules for what I'm willing to watch. However, the existance and firing of giant superlasers supercedes all restrictions.
1. Main character isn't a kid.
2. Main character isn't a girl. (Woman is fine)
3. Giant orbital cannons, giant lasers, big boom, nukes, explosions, death, gore, people killing for the sake of killing, etc.
4. Emo must die.
5. Depressing endings must die.
