I started watching Nisekoi knowing the source material was little more than a generic love comedy sprinkled with drama. Of course, with SHAFT at the helm of the anime, I figured I've give it a chance anyway. Now it's probably my favorite show of the season. Even if the concept is a little thin, the execution is pretty much perfect. I was really curious how SHAFT would deal with such a generic premise, but they somehow managed to make it amusing. I think they're pretty much my Kyoani now — anything they touch is gold.
