I'm worried that they wouldn't though. With FMA I feel like it's just something that happened, and they had to come up with something good enough for the end. I don't think a faithful adaptation to the manga was already planned at the time (maybe being thought of, but not necessarily planned). If there's a business model around it, then that removes some of the need to make the ending of the first series good. Instead of needing to make it good because it needs to sit on its own as an anime for the company to succeed, they don't have to worry about the ending because people will simply put up with it and go watch the second version when it comes out.

If they wait until next year they'll have enough content for another season, probably.  Although the anime is about three years of manga content so there'd have to be big waits between seasons (or they could just reduce future seasons to half-length).

I hope so. I've really enjoyed watching this in tandem with my sister and comparing notes the next day. Usually I binge rather than watching things as they're airing.

Well, my friend got halfway through Liar game and he manages to hate Nao (the main character, who is super honest, super naïve, and quite optimistic). I hope he ends up liking her by the end since frankly she is one of my favorite happy go lucky characters who isn't just a "lamb who needs to be protected" or "Lion who needs to be protected because otherwise she cannot be an ordinary girl".

Mind you I recognize that ubiquousness of the cheery happy go lucky female protagonist who wants to help everyone but needs someone to protect her and her cheeriness wins them over... Hence why they rarely are anything too special.

Though of the two characters I know of in anime who are my favorites of this archetype... One manages to do it by being someone who is actually quite disturbed and needs to learn to fight for herself (not a fighting anime), while the other manages to always play it straight and flips things to make it a virtue.

Yet these characters also fall flat a lot of the time too (most of the time in fact). I guess the secret is that you cannot be shallow even within the archetype.

UQ Holder is due to update at some point. I think it's been updating more frequently than monthly, but that may be due to a backlog for scanlators.

Rosario+Vampire Capu II due to end very soon.
Claymore still going strong, which is actually kind of annoying because the latest chapters have just been "GIANT ENDING BATTLE ROYALE" for forever.
Hajime no Ippo has no end in sight... It might appear that it does right now, but I seriously doubt it will be as fast of a conclusion as its best-case scenario.
Still waiting on updates to Soul Eater Not!, although I wonder how long that'll last considering Shaman King Flowers (unrelated aside from similarities).
Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - Kono Watashi no Mono Tonare, Yuusha yo Kotowaru! is due for an update shortly and is still awesome.

Semi-random factoid: My nickname for Hajime no Ippo is "Unlimited Homoerotic Fistworks". Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it, but holy shit is that endurance. It's lasted longer than most marriages.

That's actually pretty accurate given that the MC has had a cute girl persistently and obviously lusting after him for the entirety of the series, which he absolutely refuses to get it on with.

Wellllll I've gotten to Part 4 of Jojo in my reading, but the new scans of that portion are running out and eventually I'm gonna have to dive into the DUWANG scans. *shudders*

Other than that the only thing I've been keeping up with lately is UQ Holder and Hyperdimension Neptunia.
