Katawa Shoujo 2 is totally a thing guys.
I think you'll be surprised by which ending of the first game is considered canon.

I always wished that Kenji had an actual route, though. Somehow I ended up with him my first play, and was sad ever since that he didn't have his own route, but get why not.

You should watch the Instafeels video to get a summary of all the endings. It's pretty spot on. My favorite is Rin's and Emi's.

Ok after sitting on the ending of Eden of the East a while I have come to a stunning conclusion!

The anime (and thus manga) was... making it up as it went along.

It really does feel like something that just set up a mystery and didn't actually have an answer. Mostly because some aspects of the mystery doesn't line up with the conclusion.
