I don't think anyone in SnK really has the "anime" haircuts that we get and normally associate with really anime things. They're actual haircuts you would probably see. Okay, it's a little punky but punk is good. I'd love to be able to pull that hair style off.

I would love it if anyone figured out what to do with curls that aren't enormous bouffant things.  I occasionally consider straightening my hair just so I could try out some of the things I've seen other people wearing, because mine is apparently outside the norm enough that people have to keep asking if it's natural.

HUMANS DEVELOPED A NEW WEAPON TO WAGE THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE WAR EVER. IT WAS GIANT UNSTOPPABLE PEOPLE THAT PUNCHED BUILDINGS REALLY GOOD AND ATE PEOPLE. BUT THE WEAPONS BACKFIRED, AND MOST OF HUMANITY WAS DESTROYED. ONLY FRAGMENTS OF CIVILIZATION REMAINED. IT WAS VERY JAPANESE.

But yeah. The dumb titans that remain are the results of the war that ended human civilization. And all the giant titans that suddenly appear are Humans Inside Titans, seeing as how they appear in flashes of light. Maybe Female Titan is a person that is related to Armin, hence why she spared him. I hope Bald Colossal Titan is General Pyxis, and he and others (and maybe even Eren's Dad) were using the ancient titan-making formula they recovered to try and foment a rebellion against the corrupt and decadent leaders of the Inner Wall. That would make me happy.

Part of that is correct and confirmed in the manga in the broad sense, though the details of it are wrong. As for the other part, it's not been revealed yet, but some of the mindfuckery in the most recent chapters says to me that it's unlikely to be that simple.
