Shall we forget Paradox in Yu-Gi-Oh? I mean admitting it doesn't take long for the characters to realize he was full of stupid and was a villain anyway... But the plot twist doesn't make sense.

I am not speaking about a trend I am just saying "Don't you hate when that happens?"

As for Bleach, it kinda has one thing worse. An unapologetic villain who becomes a good guy for no reason other then the creator didn't want to have ambiguity anymore. It really gives credence to the theory that Bleach was actually meant to end during the Soul Society Arc.

If you're talking about Mayuri Kurotsuchi, I think you're thinking about it wrong. Mayuri didn't switch sides; the protagonists switched sides.

I am thinking of the Soul Reaper who basically just murders everyone all day and doesn't care... but the second the "protagonists switch sides" he decides that being despicably evil isn't worth it anymore... and the protagonists don't care about him anymore.

Kenpachi Zaraki (Eyepatch and bells in his hair)? He never stopped caring about Ichigo, Ichigo just decided not to answer his challenges.
And I wouldn't call him evil, just completely devoid of any goals other than fighting and enjoying the thrill of battle (Then again, I wouldn't really call anyone evil, so take my opinions with a grain of salt).
The reason Kenny was in conflict with Ichigo was because he wanted to fight him. After he fought him and was defeated/tied with him, he had no reason to force an engagement (though he still asked Ichigo to fight him again; Ichigo just ran away).

The one I am surprised lived past the Soul Society Arc or the Bount Arc.

Also Kenpachi Zeraki wasn't EXACTLY evil. I mean sure he doesn't care if his opponent survives his attacks, but still.
