Puella Magi Kazumi Magica is continuing to be pretty good. There's obvious filler, which bothers me as I expected a 23 chapter manga to be pretty streamlined, but overall I'm enjoying it. Also Mami showed up for a scene, which was a significant point in its favor for me.

Im not really bothered if its extreme gory or not but i feel i cant take anime serious if it doesnt have some swearing or blood n guts lol..

I used to watch loads of Manga years ago but cant remember much now.

The only "everyone's dead" anime i can think off the top of my head of is Angel Beats.

BTW you might enjoy the 90's OVA Genocyber just for the extreme goriness. Makes Elfen Lied look like Sesame Street in comparison.

(btw it's Elfen and not Elven or Elfin, because it means "Elf Song" in German)

Na its Gantz, had a google around for it.  Started watching it about same time as Elfen Lied just before internet reliability went down the can.

Is there an anime site out there like watchseries.lt  thats just for anime/manga by any chance?

Ghost in the Shell is classic, but I also recommend Legend of the Galactic Heroes. It isn't mature through gore/swearing but through politics and war. Gantz anime is pretty chaotic, because manga still isn't finished (AFAIK).

Did any of you guys ever watch that anime Spider Riders? I remember seeing some of it when I was a kid but I turned away from it because of how different it was from the novels. It was actually really bizarre the way they changed it. Though I guess it was a demographics thing since the show was directed at a younger audience. I just suddenly felt like bringing it up.

Very loosely based. Like the only thing it shared was the setting, character names, and spider theme. The plot was completely different.
