My Sister actually REALLY likes Fullmetal alchemist but finds it too sad to watch.

So I am trying hard to find an anime she will like just as much that doesn't blow up babies brains for fun.

Im not really bothered if its extreme gory or not but i feel i cant take anime serious if it doesnt have some swearing or blood n guts lol..

Ghost in the Shell is the best fit, imo. There's the film, its sequel, and a series of two seasons.

Current with the anime of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha. It's not as good as the manga version I read (and it's not based off of the same manga version, either). I highly recommend
MAOYUU MAOU YUUSHA - "KONO WATASHI NO MONO TONARE, YUUSHA YO" "KOTOWARU!" (copy-pasted)
It is economics + all sorts of enjoyable things. A lot of people naturally compare it to Spice & Wolf.

Newest Rosario + Vampire Season II manga chapter was kind of fun (except that it wasn't part of the main series, >=( ), but the art style was kind of jarring.
Read thirty chapters of Air Gear and 25 chapters of Sankarea to be able to read a crossover fic by the absolutely amazing Gabriel Blessing, which was quite good. I don't think I'll continue either series, unfortunately.

Current with Ao no Exorcist (manga), which is pretty fun.

If I understand correctly, the manga actually has Obama getting elected, as in, you see it happen in the series itself. Going crazy near the most recent chapters is one of the reasons I don't feel like continuing it.

So I'm watching Hellsing OVA Ultimate and... was the androgynous Nazi catboy (vampire?) really necessary.

EDIT: And Episode 5 proves that Alucard is the best character. He finds out that his gun is imbued with the spirit of Bruce Willis and he's having none of that shit.
