Yeah, nothing suggestive at all. (Mind you as I said... the show, like the manga, hints that there very well may be an attraction between those two characters... but at the same time everyone seems to like males, especially young ones, in Beserk)

Dude, I already know about Seikon no Qwaser. Here's a pro-tip:

It's made by the same makers as Mysyterious Girlfriend X (Hoods Entertainment), but it's much more NSFW. Mysyterious Girlfriend X seems to be the company's break into more palatable fare, actually. Most of their stuff is violent ecchi bordering on Hentai, and they always seem to have a high "squick" factor compared to other shows - i.e. they animate the stuff that makes other studios want to vomit.

There's another one called Manyuu Hikenchou they make which is in the "beyond the pale" category. Pretty much Mysyterious Girlfriend X is the first one they made which I didn't stop watching in disgust after a couple of episodes, and I've seen Bible Black.

Hell, I'm not sure anyone was saying Mysyterious Girlfriend X was the worst ever, it's just unusual. I can think of 20 or more excessive screwed up shows.

So far my tally says that the best way to get a show that is REALLY messed up in a bad way... is to look at the Romance.

I don't know what it is about Romance and being absolutely terrible... but the two worst experiences of watching anime (ok... two of the three...) were from one romance anime and another with a romance subplot that was terrible (Peach Girl and Familiar Zero... both which I don't think I need to explain anymore).

And I watched an anime about turning monsters into cards, baking bread, magical cooking tools, and two animes about hobby fairies teaching people their hobby (Bad, Good but too Japan, Good, Decent, and Good)

Mind you that means I should look harder. I am sure it is just a coincidence that romance just dishes out the absolute worst writing in these cases.

Now that I have time I can watch GOOD animes again. >_<

I really gotta watch Fairytale again... but I am worried it will start to suck. It started off TOO strongly with a balanced cast with their own talents and skills that come together to solve problems and situations. This is TOO good a set up for an anime, I just KNOW that the balance will be broken somehow.

You missed the point. Of course it was homoerotic, but that's far less relevant to the subtext than Griffith's obsession with possession, so to speak.

I liked the premise of the series, but I think the execution was pretty poor.
