I don't watch alot of ecchi, but one that I would honestly recommend is Agent Aika, where if you took out the gratuitous panty shots every three seconds, it would actually be a better than decent action romp OVA by itself. I can only imagine that the writers had some burning desire to put in this awesome little story amidst the sea of softcore porn, and then just hope it didn't get lost somewhere along the way.

And hey, it has a guy with a pink mohawk named Bandora, and that's enough reason for me to give it the thumbs up.

I've seen Agent Aika. Bandora is voiced by girls in both Japanese and English, pretty sure he's a she. Close-ups online show pink lip-stick as well as the mohawk, probably a girl. One guy actually counted the panty-shots, and he got up to 140 in the first episode before he quit counting.

Pretty rare though that an fanservice-heavy series has much to recommend it, the only ones i really liked enough for that would be Strike Witches (WWII robotic plane legs), Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls (because of the awesome visual style and fight scenes) and Divergence Eve, especially after seeing the ending of season 2 clear everything up (if you paid attention to both seasons).

Too bad they messed up Divergence Eve with all the out of place fan-service, it could've been one of the best gritty sci-fi/horror ones (well they'd have to redo the fight scenes, but it really wasn't about those anyway).

Really? What about Ghost in a Shell. That is REALLY fanservice heavy.

Or Higurashi, that has a LOT of Fanservice (maybe too much given the ages of the people involved). Heck any "Little kids in deadly situations" anime is pretty much heavily laden with fanservice.

Excel Saga has its fair share of Fanservice which is included in the intro.

Marchen Awakens Romance... Is terrible so it doesn't count. Though if you like it it certainly counts (Including one SUPER fanservice battle)

I NOTICED the Fanservice and it actually really bugged me mostly because of the odd camera angles often just to show off a character's butt (and that character will always be female).

I am just saying that good animes that just so happen to have copious amounts of fanservice are not so rare.

What about the skintight, skin-shade reactive-camouflage bodysuit in the first GiTS film?  :p

Higurashi and GITS qualify as light fan-service compared to the 3 i mentioned. Naked boobs popping out at you repeatedly.

What's always amused me about fanservice-heavy series is to watch them while narrating everything in my head. Just think about what something like Infinite Stratos would read like as pure text.  :P

Ecchi crap in anime is a blight infesting the medium anyway.
Nothing makes me happier than when I can watch something and not have to deal with a single panty shot or breast grab.
It's the part of anime that makes it embarrassing to even admit you watch it in the first place.
