Doing my 5th playthrough of Sengoku Rance (yes this game has a lot of content).  Monkey Kill route.  Almost done.  Have an entire team of cleared badasses.  Was going to wait to do a larger more coherent post but...

Well nothing left to do but beat Orochi now!

I'm pretty sure it was added in a later patch, doesn't have a large story at all.  In fact the purpose of it was to allow people to play the normal game without the story getting in the way.

Basically Rance kills Nobunaga's monkey and the plot never starts happening.  No gourds, nothing.  I'm doing it because it's a lot easier to clear characters without a plot time limit.

Holy shit.  Episode 4 of Katanagatari was 1,000 times better then the preview led to believe.

Nothing the preview showed in episode 3 was shown in episode 4.

Soo... anyone watch Welcome to the NHK?

Yep, definitely one of my top series. Every time it's mentioned, it's mandatory for someone to say "It hits really close home." As it does for me. NHK is like.. slice of life for people with no life. [Or at least suck at life.] I'm sure pretty much everyone has fallen into that kind of rut once or twice, and it's nice to see something that relates to that.

Although Satou's a bit of a lucky bastard in his case. A friend and a cute girl popping into his life out of nowhere willing to drag him out of his rut. Tch. ;_;

Also, there's the manga, but after watching the anime, the pacing seemed really bad.. Also in the manga, Satou apparently dabbles in some relatively hard drugs. I guess that could be better or worse depending on what you want, but I liked Satou better without.

In today's episode of Katanagatari (ep5) we learn many things.

And Maniwani designs will never stop being awesome.

...No the main plot wasn't too interesting but the back-story for the sword holder this time was neat (not that it never is) and this is the very first holder not to be killed by Shichika!

I also cleared my 5th run of Sengoku Rance because why not.  It's not done because I have to beat Orochi and do a few more clears but otherwise it's done.

Surprise visitors??  I never even knew these guys existed until now.  So many loose ends...


Some cool (typo'd cool as kill, oh god) fan art of the Little Princess Demon King.  It's the last route I haven't done.  I have a save where I entered it in my 2nd playthrough so I might try it there or in my soon to be 6th True run.


4th wall breaking was a common occurrence this run.  The dream (nightmare) sequence didn't help.  Also screw your clear Kiku.

Shingen's Assassination was great, worth finding the three fled commanders though?  No.


Nobunaga, Miki, and now Fuuka?!  Who can I trust?!


Here's my ending status with my first Orochi attempt, which was blind.  I think I can do it if I train up more.  I can take down the Road to Hades boss easy.



Latest progress.  I'm missing a few special events but otherwise the main challenge is character clears and game ending characters.  Which are haaaaard.

My 6th and likely last playthrough will be the True route once again.  What adventures we've been through these last 2.5 months.

May the eternal war begin.  (getting the last nook and crannies is HARD, I'm looking at you Takeda)


Lastly, almost done with volume 6 of Vinland Saga (which I always always write as Vinland Sage).  Very very good.
