A bit late to the disability discussion, but I also recommend playing Katawa Shoujo. The eroge scenes are a bit awkward, but if it makes you feel better you can turn them off. I still have 3 more routes to get to 100%...I need to get back to that.

I just gave somebody The Anime Talk. I always love doing that- explaining to somebody that yes, Pokémon is basically crap and no, anime is not a monolithic genre, and most people don't have very good taste, and that LoGH and Evangelion are as fantastic as anything the West has ever produced.

"No mother, anime is not created exclusively by perverts...Yes, I know there are some creepy people in the news, but I mean, 'real' videos can have creepy and/or erotic counterparts as well."

Also, I knit a Haruhi wristband (the one that says 'Brigade Chief') in honor of my new position as club Vice-president. It turned out very nice, first thing I've knit, too.

I finished the last route in Sengoku Rance for me (Kenshin).  I guess Kill The Monkey, Demon King, and Free For All still kind of count but for legitimate heroine routes I'm done.

Whoever keeps marking Sengoku Rance as a 30-50 hour VN is a total liar.  Unless you only want to play 1/4 of the game.

Also 5 star was freakin hard, never again

Hmm what an odd line. It brings in to question soo much about the setting of Sangoku and the size.

That's out of context and the 'Rance World' is entirely different from anything you could be thinking, probably.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I'm on turn 86 of Free For All mode and....just geez...why did I pick Akashi...

EDIT:
Spoiler: here's a nice map (click to show/hide)

After playing Sengoku Rance, I really learnt to hate the protagonist, he's a rapist who rapantly slaughters people, and in general just a really horrible person. That doesn't stop a quarter of the girls he meets thinking the world of him because apparently these are traits that can be overlooked?

First Berserk movie was awesome.  I wish it was longer.  ;_;

Dammit I was hoping to be the first person here to see it!
Yeah, it was great. Definitely got me pumped to see the next one, but considering how long the first took to be subbed I can assume I will get to watch it this fall or winter.

My one problem with it would be some of the CGI at the beginning is a little iffy, but it smooths out as the movie goes on.
I really like how they captured the intensity of Griffith and how menacing he can be, and the brutality of the battles.
So, yeah, great movie. When it comes out on DVD here I will try to pick it up.

I'm watching Future Boy Conan for the second time through. Man this is just such a good show, easily one of, if not my most favorite anime of all time.

So a long time ago (probably over a year) a friend of mine mentioned a First Person Shooter that featured a bunch of anime characters from assorted anime. I don't know much more than that, but I suddenly feel the urge to find it again. I remember it has a Wikipedia page and I _think_ Sakura (from Card Captor Sakura) was one of the characters, but not sure on that last part.

Anyone know what it could be?

Probably some random FPS with modding capability. I remember playing Quake 3 with Vash the Stampede, once.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

I found it by searching Ctrl+F words that came to mind on the list of Anime Games on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magical_Battle_Arena

It was not an FPS, but I had a dream about it last night in which I remembered it so my description was bound to be a bit off.

Watched a few episodes of Bleach because a friend forced me. Next to that, nothing.
I don't really like anime. There's something about it that I don't get I suppose.
My god is bleach a horrible piece of shit.

Tite cannot write to save his life! And my fuck, for a show that has /lots/ of sword fighting Tite seems to be purposefully ignorant on choreography, or movies or anime with actually good sword fighting.

And he has no idea what to do with his main character. His main character often not the person with the most conflict or personal interest in the story.

Let's be honest: if it is something that that fangirl (I think everyone knows/has seen someone like that) would gush about, it probably isn't a very good example of the medium, in the same way that Twilight wouldn't be a good way to introduce someone to literature.

Any genres you'd be interested in? We could bounce some recommendations off you and see if anything sticks.
